Son probably deserves at least 6 months under Ange to regain his form
He can be devastating, has a great partnership with Kane, but his form last yr is a concern. Was it down to him, Conte, the system , only time will tell, not getting any younger, but if he recovers form and Kane stays then we know what they can do together.

I would’ve sold Son last summer and I’ve been consistent in saying we should’ve shopped him after he won the PL golden boot, could’ve gotten a team like Bayern to spunk their Mané money on him.

Now, obviously that would’ve been insane for many reasons to do, but it was the best financial decision we could’ve made, he is a declining asset and if we could swap him for a younger 1v1 specialist we’d be better off in the long term. However doing that would enrage the fanbase most of all Kane who would likely leave as a result so we can’t do it.

Well, we’ll soon see.

I have zero issue with Son starting the season. I do have an issue with him starting every game when he fails to do anything. A lot of that was likely down to Conte, who was clearly an utterly unimaginative hierarchical tool.

But Solomon has looked useful and certainly deserving of starts.

I don’t think Ange will tolerate passengers.

Nor should he. Neither should the fans for that matter. What I would say is that with Son specifically, he deserves a wee bit of leeway imho.

We're quick as fuck to bring out the pitchforks when players show a complete lack of loyalty, if not at least decency. As well we should. Son has made it abundantly clear that he would remain loyal to this club and its fans; that it's not just about cool cash and greener pastures.

He deserves respect and our loyalty in return. Not to point of accepting a passenger, but most certainly he deserves every bit of imaginable benefit of doubt, until proven otherwise.

Your post implies that getting rid of Son will result in fewer South Korean fans which is good for the atmosphere.
So why is that?
Because they don’t look like you, speak funny and don’t behave in the manner that you demand. They don’t sing your songs, get pissed up and talk about ‘that day in 1991 when we ran Chelsea down the High Road’. They behave differently. They’re enthusiastic flag-wavers who don’t boo Davinson Sanchez and will probably enjoy the day regardless of the result. How dare they? Worse, your mate Keith’s son couldn’t get a ticket.
Culturally, Koreans treat sports differently. Not everyone is going to behave in a manner you expect or demand. You don’t control the right way to enjoy a football match. If you owned a passport, I’d suggest that you take in a baseball game in Seoul and enjoy that cultural difference but the idea is clearly wasted on you.
You’re a petty, xenophobic bigot. Too bad that you don’t even see it.
Correct

not sure this system is going to work for son. out wide and required to play a bit off the cuff at times especially when hes going to have the ball and look for options to play out of a cornering. unless the games made extremely basic for him he struggles and always has, doesnt have that natural football brain. everything has to be rehearsed for him. we missed the boat for selling while stock was high.

We could still get 30M

We could still get 30M
we could of got 80 plus a year ago.

that would of shrewd business from the club, it would of been berated by the fans but it would of been the correct thing to do. 80m that could of gone into rebuilding that tragic defence.

levy is probably stubborn to sell players now in the fear of being criticized as a selling club. liverpool smashed it with coutinho.

By all accounts, Dier is a respected leader in the dressing room. That wouldn't be the case if he were blaming others for his errors constantly. Shouting and pointing on the pitch don't equal shifting blame.
I simply don’t understand this angle of Dier being a leader.

You can be a leader and not be the best player on the pitch. You at least need to be middling but put in 100% all the time as an example. If Dier puts in 100% though it doesn’t matter as it’s 100% dog turd.

He is absolute toilet.

In fact, we’d probably be better off with an actual used toilet bowl out there on the pitch. It would occasionally get interceptions and put people off their game.

I actually prefer Sanchez, because at least there is a universe where he actually has a good game and uses his one attribute, pace. Albeit it not this one, but I find solace in that possibility.

There is no known universe or inception reality where Dier leads Spurs to anything other than eternal prison bukkake damnation.

That’s an interesting one especially if Hojbjerg goes but I don’t think he’s really suited to the 6 and I’m not sure how he takes time away from Maddison, Sarr, Lo Celso, Bissouma etc.

Losing PEH I fear we need a real tackling physical beast in the squad, someone who can cover CBs in transition and run down attacks tirelessly, Hatate is not that.

But he’s really good, when I was watching Celtic stuff to figure out what Ange was about he always stood out, kind of the way Luka would stand out watching us under ‘Arry. So if nothing else he’d be an example for other guys and help the Ange-ification of our midfield.

The original assertation was that 'he can't play as a CF' his displays for Brazil very much says he can, despite the opponents he has around a 1 in 2 record which is respectable as far as International football is concerned.
Fine, and what you are saying is not wrong but it’s without context. It’s like saying ‘Gift Orban is prolific in the Belgian league as a CF therefore he can play CF for Spurs.’ We don’t really know that.

Opposition matters and does add valid context to the conversation.

I never said he was good.

Your opinion of him is a bit caricaturized. He's not nearly as bad as some make him out to be, but he's certainly not good enough to start for a team with CL aspirations. Covered this ground in length earlier in the summer.

I expect he'll be staying as a bench option, which is fine. So long as we aren't depending on him, I'd get money for Sanchez and possibly Tanganga while letting Dier run down his deal on the bench and benefit from his presence in the dressing room, rather than spunk £5M to pay him to play somewhere else and face the same lame duck season with Sanchez next year.

We signed Mickey, and hopefully we're still working to sign Tapsoba.

Yeah, only real case to be made is that Maddison and GLC are both injury prone
