Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He wasn't going to re-sign, so this is the least worst outcome. Means we are spared seeing him in a Utd or Newcastle shirt next year, and can rebuild with the cash and a manager who anyway has preferred a different kind of centre forward.

I'm still not quite understanding why, as per several reports, Super Agent Pini Zahavi has been conducting our negotiations with Bayern.

Zahavi will want a cut, that's his raison d'etre. But why would Levy, the self-styled master negotiator, willingly agree to chuck a few million Zahavi's way?

Speculatively, I wonder if Zahavi is involved because he will be facilitating transfers we want to complete as & when Kane agrees to sign for Bayern?
Two reasons: Bayern fucking hate Zahavi, calling him a "piranha" in the past, so appointing him is a big fuck you to their higher ups. Secondly, Zahavi has been working with them a lot, he knows how they operate.

He wanted out.
Levy wanted £100m.

It's taken too long, but that's been because of Bayern playing little dick games.

Good luck H. A magnificent Spurs player who I think we failed but who also never quite helped us get over the line.

He was happy to join Bayern now (and for us to get a big fee) and happy to join another club on a free.

We’ll never know whether he could have been persuaded to sign a new contract if Ange does well because Levy wasn’t brave enough to take that chance.

We all know that Kane is not happy to be here if we are going to remain 8th. Levy obviously doesn’t think we can do much better so he’s given up and taken the pragmatic option.
Not quite . Levy has done the obvious thing. He is giving Kane the option, either go to Bayern, a big club in a shit foreign league for good fee, OR sign an extension on great wages. We cant allow him to go to a prem rival fir nothing 12 months from now.

Perhaps.

But do you think the Bavarian brass(es) worship the ground Levy walks on?

And as we all know here, Levy has inserted himself into every single major transfer we've negotiated since ENIC took over the club.

Shall we ask Hoeness & co who they loathe the most, Zahavi or Levy?

Imo we should be selling Kane if he's not going to sign a new contract, and £100m is a decent deal for a 30yo with one year left. Even with Kane, we probably spend the season battling for places 3-6 in the league.. big risk to assume that convinces him to sign on. If he goes, at least you create a clear path for Richarlison, Veliz and hopefully Gift Orban to show whether or not they're good enough, Scarlett when he returns from loan, maybe Son gets a run through the middle. Will miss watching Kane, on his best days he's a mighty player.

Don’t mug yourselves off with the “he won’t go” bollocks. This wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near as far as it did with Bayern if Kane really wanted to stay.

New era. I could fucking cry of course. But it’s reality.
