So if Kane goes, Lloris and Hojbjerg likely going, maybe Perisic too. We’re bringing in a ton of youth in Udogie, VDV, Veliz, Solomon, Phillips, and with Sarr, Skipp, Porro, and others stepping into bigger first team roles.

All to say, almost all of the first team players we’re likely to be relying on next season will be 26 and under. Except Son.

Is there a case to cash out on Son now and let Ange fully rebuild a youthful team in his image with maximum transfer fund and wage flexibility? Without Kane top 4 is a long shot. Might be worth taking a step back this year to build to take big steps forward in 2 or 3 seasons.
Difference between Son and the others he still wants to be here and try and win.

In Munich everything will be getting cold.
Even the beer and the sausage!

It’s no reflection on Sonny, who I absolutely love and has been a loyal servant to the club.

It’s about trying to maximize the value of a 31 year old who could be regressing based on last season and about building our next great side. If Kane goes, it might be a couple seasons until we can really compete again at which point Son might be well past it. Whereas maybe we could still get 50m for him this summer and open up $175k/week in wages.

It’s about aligning the age window of our squad.

Why?

Last time we sold a world class player we spent all of it.

Ok, so apart from Eriksen (and sort of Lamela) it was mostly wasted. But we did spend it.
Because I know the way baldies mind works.
He's probably more than satisfied that he got Solomon, Veliz, Maddison in as attacking options. And Richarlison was blatantly bought as the long term replacement for Kane.
I wouldn't hold your breath on a sudden barrage of signings. Maybe we get Gift Orban if we are very lucky.

Whenever you are considering Levy to have a clue what he is doing just remember he wants to give Dier a new contract and we still haven't resolved the CB issue. One injury and it's back to the donuts who leaked 60 goals last season.

Yeah but he said he could of left but don't want to and doubt anyone wants to force him out.
Suppose even next summer some Saudi club would still offer big money.

All contingent on what Kane does. If he stays, then I think we have a side that can make top 4 and compete.

If he leaves, then we need to strongly rebuild with our focus on the future and it’s hard to see how Son fits in a rebuild so might as well get a maximum fee while his value is still high.
