Need a proven experienced centre half to calm things down at the back, and guaranteed goals from a wide forward / striker to steady the ship and give the team some hope for the season. Not cheap signings but players in the mould of Maddison who have been regularly performing in the league for a couple of years and ready to step straight in with no need to adjust / improve / learn. Can’t see it happening though unfortunately. With Son not looking the same player, my worry is we are really really short of goals in the team.

Agree. We have large numbers of players, some we don't want (eg Ndombele) , others we think mot good enough especially in an Ange system.

So the emphasis needs to be about bringing in quality additions - and 2 quality is far better than 4 average that we will want to upgrade in one or two years time
