As I began saying to start with; it's pointless one saying "I think player X can do a job" if you don't actually want them to do it when it comes to the crunch. We're just back to that sketchy concept of "good enough to be a squad player".... Peeps say it but don't mean it.

Basically; he can't do what you said; so either he's a back-up to Maddison or you get rid.; but don't expect a player equally as good as Maddison to sit on his arse all season waiting for JM to get injured.

So you'd rather spend money on a back up AM: rather that fix the system on the basis that it's intended to work and spend that money on wingers instead?

After the dirty tricks Chelski have done on us and there is talk of offering them money for that useless tube Lukaku! I’d rather pull my teeth out with pliers first.
Get Orban in now Levy and don’t be waiting to the last second of the transfer window.

It's way more complex than that as you have older transfer fees coming to an end, and wages going off the books - Kane and Lloris will be a big old saving.
But clubs do have annual financials to report. O/S fees still go on the debt sheet even if they're not due in that financial year.

He can do a job in multiple roles. Across midfield and forward line at a pinch.

Just like Ben Davies can 'do a job at CB'. Does anyone really want to rely on him there long-term, no?

Same as Sanchez. These are the type of squad players we have.

To improve as a team you need genuine competition for places.

See Woolwich signing Timber whilst having Saliba and Gabriel, as an example.

We are selling PEH. Rather than replace with another clogger we should add a creative mid in the Madders/Eze role. To me Gio is somewhere between a PEH and a Maddison.

I am comfortable with Gio as the Skipp/Bentancur rotation but for not as our main creative outlet. He has never demonstratrd this ability for us (or in his career outside of 1 season with Betis) so I dont get the confidence.
 
I've heard we're not signing anyone else until the final 48 hours of the window due to the following reasons:

- Need to shift players out first
- Gives Ange three more games to look at the squad
- Levy's a cunt
