Tapsoba will back himself to get into our first XI. Most Bundesglia experts who watched both VdV and Tapsoba closely were of the opinion that Tapsoba is a better defender right now.

That's purely speculative on your part. Let's not pretend we know the guy's mentality.... It could equally be that he feels that he shouldn't have to fight for a starting role..........

[Again, all rhetorical.]

I personally don't mind who starts out of Romero, VdV, Tapsoba as long as they're all playing well... but I do not want a situation where we only have 2 quality CBs like now, huge risk given suspensions/ injuries.

What you "personally want" won't be something that's on Tapsoba's mind should Spurs be trying to sign him this summer.

What if neither get injured or suspended?
In today's game, a suspected concussion is enough to rule a player out (as illustrated by Romero against Brentford). With positions that involve a lot of tackling and aerial challenges, injuries and suspensions are an occupational hazard. It's unrealistic to expect a CB to go through an entire season without picking up either.

And, for the record, I'm not complaining about Romero being taken off against Brentford (player welfare comes first) but it's still an additional contingency the squad needs to be prepared for.

Let's not get greedy. Eye on the prize....

You rather spend 60 mill on someone who will come in and sit on the bench than a player that gets into the starting lineup?

Who says he will sit on the bench, he is the more accomplished than VDV in terms of experience and game time in a top European league (Dont get me wrong i like VDN and he was very good in his debut)

Secondly Eze plays in Maddison's position , Maddison all day long above eze, Maddison in terms of goals and assists being only 1 yr older than Eze, blows him out the water!!!

Bentancur replace Skipp as the more DEF minded holding player, for me Sarr is above skipanyway, Eze is purely an attack minded player like Maddison... and you can forget Eze instead of Boss Man BISSUOMA

.........Yet is openly doing work on behalf of Spurs.

Because:

Paratici has appealed the ruling and has seen his punishment partially reduced. While he is still banned from entering dressing rooms and negotiating with players or agents, he is now free to attend training sessions and perform administrative work behind the scenes.
Exactly my point. He is banned from doing his job to the fullest extent.

You said it yourself -
he is still banned from entering dressing rooms and negotiating with players or agents

That has cost us dearly.

That's the job of the manager. 3 quality CBs when we're competing in 3 competitions over a season is not an issue, especially given Romero being injury/ suspension prone.

So seemingly we already failed to convince Tosin.... So, what then? .......Ange out? : P

It's certainly no excuse to not go out and get Tapsoba.

It's not an excuse at all... You asked what could prevent him signing.... I offered up a perfectly valid reason why he might not be keen.

You seem to think that the only possible barrier is a Levy putting his hand in his pocket; when we're literally seeing with Tosin that's not the case.

Yep not by many at all, in terms of top league in respective countries Eze has 5 more goals and 2 more assists, Eze is 25 and Doku is 21

How many games have either missed through injuries in the last two seasons ?

This league is physically demanding.

I like Doku. He's exciting. But if it WAS a choice of Eze or Doku then I'm going Eze everytime. HG, versatile, experience. Less injury prone

Where do you have that 60 fee from? If Tapsoba was truly available for 60m I think we would have come up with an acceptable financial package. Leverkusen are likely asking for something around 100m, and whilst some around here would call that ambition, I would call it stupid
I think Paul O'Keefe mentioned he would be around 60m a few weeks ago.
If the asking price was 100m, I'd agree we shouldn't go ahead with the transfer.

I am trying my best not to get my hopes up here, this feels like Rennes offering a 'pay up or fuck off' signal to City imo. But if we could somehow swap Ndombele for Doku that would be absolute magic.

While I'm at it, I hope the Fati stuff is at least being looked at. It also seems unrealistic and he has his own set of injury issues, but we NEED a first team quality winger. absolute must this window imo.

I say both- spend big on a CB and RW. If you look at the net spend of rival clubs- we should be able to afford that.

I'd rather we spend according to our bank balance, rather than that of another club.

Besides; you insisted that net spend was flawed a few days ago........... Yet the moment we get a significant incoming fee; net spend is king again? Mate; that's some bogus moves, right there.................

No, because Tosin probably does not think he can start over VdV (Tosin wasn't even a regular starter for Fulham).
Tapsoba is significantly better than Tosin, so it wouldn't take a lot to convince him that he'd play regularly for us.
