Cos he's not the guy to wanna take a punt on young talent and would rather pay peak money for players in their late 20s?

:llorishuh:
Here,I would love it if we take a punt on these two but you know as well as I do it won’t happen. Why not go for these two plus Veliz and we could have an unstoppable strike force in a couple of years. Build a young team that will be envied and could actually win things. We don’t have the fans that would be patient enough for that or a club that would pay decent money for potentially big talent. Getting VDV and Udogie in is a good start. Then you have Biss,Sarr,Porro and even Deki and we have young hungry players with a bright future.

Word is City are getting Doku for close to €100m.
That's way above what I though his valuation would be (due to his injury problems).
If Doku & Paqueta joins I can't see Palmer getting much playing time as he'll also have Grealish, Silva and even Foden in front of him in the WFT position; unless Pep decides to play him in the OMF position of the now injured de Bruyne but even there he'd have Foden, Silva and Paqueta in front of him...

Or they couldn’t get Tosin to agree to terms.
I think we’re going to find that our third center back, cover for Romero basically, is going to be a big drop-off from our first-choice.
Still, the Enfield taxi-divers who love to boo Dav probably won’t notice that the shiny new guy is no better for a couple of years.

Why Enfield taxi drivers?

Dav was boo’d because people didn’t know yet they could boo the club for not bringing a top class CB in….

I do think Tosin is better than Dav btw and it’s not close. He’s better in the air, a world better passing the ball, just a quick or quicker and great at blocking shots.

If we went into the season with our top 3 CBs as Romero, VDV, and Tosin, I’d have no complaints with the club for CBs

I have no idea whether we'd sign either...... The point is, why do 20-30m players seem so off-limits to you?
I’ve never ever said that. Show me where I said that.
I just don’t think levy would spend that on potential from the Danish and Belgian leagues. The price of a player means nothing. They could be £100 million and don’t fit into a style or system. I saw the other day there Paredes the Argentinian signed for Roma for 4 million euros. He would be ideal for us so price tags mean fuck all.
