I thought that Levy's gin palace was supposed to be the game changer for us, an unrelenting piggy bank that we could tap into in order to compete with the likes of the top four?

Appears that we have all just been taken for mugs, and looking at the season ticket prices, are still are being taken as mugs.

The mans nothing more than a snake oil salesman.
"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.".......I'm all for collective action that is effective and organised but there has to be a modicum of logic applied otherwise it becomes no more than going through the motions.

The most effective type of action is non attendance and that's never going to happen therefore we might have to start thinking with our foresight rather than our feet.

The absurdity of yesterday with ST holders demonstrating about ticket increases when our tickets have remained unchanged for consecutive season's just about epitomises the combined IQ of the groups who organised it. Imagine the reaction if the Board announced they'd listened to our protests and decided to reverse the decision to increase matchday prices for members and transfer it to ST's instead?

True Levy is a salesman but neck oil is his chosen poison, if we want to make him sit up and take notice and at the same time hit them in the pocket where it hurts then organise a mass 'no sale until you sell' for every home game for the rest of the season. Far more easier to organise than the rest of the embarrassing nonsense that failed abysmally up to now.

Imagine all those retail outlets lying idle before, during and after every home game, Levy would probably have a pull?

It's better to get rid, but since financially it'll be the same paying off the player or keeping on the bench, it's better to hold on to them. Two reasons: you might get a fee next window, or you may need to call upon them in case of injuries.

We cannot afford to 'get rid' or tear up contracts of circa 10 players as some suggest.

What that means for Ndombele who has 2 years left on his contract and paid £200k pw (£10m pa) is a payout of £20m. Getting rid of 10 players might well cost the thick end of £100m.

We might be able to sell a couple for circa £20m each if we are lucky (giving a small fund) and loan out a few, but heavily subsidising their wages which might well cost us £20m/30m this season, but the rest we cannot sell or loan (plus the injured Sessegnon and Gil) we have no option other than to keep. And yes that will impact our ability to sign more players both in terms of funding and squad places.

But despite the naysayers, we are actually in a much better position than we were last season having brought in Vicario to succeed an increasingly erratic Lloris, Ven de Ven and Ugogie (loaned out last season), the creative Maddison, and a few youngsters ..... with possibly our biggest change being our new manager who is using players such as Bissouma far better than Conte ever did.

Sure, we'd be even better with a couple of extra players ...... and the same will be true next summer.

But I think we'll enjoy the football this season, much more so than the last few seasons

Well that’s dispiriting.

I like Richie and I’ve defended him consistently. I think he’s had a tough run and I’d like to see him get some confidence back.

But the club simply cannot rely on him and someone else has to come in. You can’t lose Kane and expect this lad to step up against all evidence over the past 18 months.
It is but expected, club not prepared to push the boat out.
Top 8 are they are happy.

Look, it’s pretty simple, the club has had a decent start to the window.

You never fully complete a squad but there is still work to do.

The manager has shown in 2 games already that he’s worth getting behind. Levy might need to be less stubborn on prices to get players in and out but it’s not like this is Conte asking for multiple 70m players.

What he’s asking for seems like it fits with price ranges the club has been comfortable with before.

Lack of outgoings is no excuse for bringing in no one after selling Kane. Second league game of the season and zero senior specialist strikers. Sort it out.
Yet we're averaging 2 goals a game and, more importantly, our average xG is 2.0 having played United and a super defensive Brentford. For perspective, our average xG last year was 1.5 and Woolwich's was 2.0. And the players are still learning Ange's system, meaning it is expected to get higher as the season progresses.

So yeah, a striker would be nice, but it's not the end all be all right now. Spending money just because it's burning a hole in our pocket, instead of taking our time to identify the absolute best option, would be repeating the mistakes of the past.

People were also getting antsy that we didn't appoint a new manager right away after Conte was sacked, but we took our time and identified the right fit. So chill out. We may have not made as many signings as y'all might want, but the ones we made have so far been spot on. I'd rather this than just knee-jerk spending.

What exactly is he asking for? Do you even know?

Another CB is far more important signing than a ST

We are still Romero/ VDV injury away from Dier/Sanchez/Davies back in the starting 11.

This is far bigger concern than having Richarlison as first choice ST

Agree

Also starting to think Hojberg out and a deputy #6 to Bissouma that means we don’t lose the press resistance is the second biggest concern.

Maybe that’s Bentancur but he may not get back to his best this season
