Bissouma and Sarr are not missing 8 games. There'll be a winter break this season from Jan. 13-20. AFCON has its opening ceremony on Jan. 13. This season the AFCON final will be delayed to Feb. 11. Generally it takes 9 days from the first match to the semi-final, so at most they'll miss two days, and then probably like four days in February if they make it to the final.
Are you just looking at the knockout stage because there's the group stage too, would take much longer than 9 days from first game to the semis

They can potentially miss up to 8 games depending on domestic cups.

No idea if they can meet in the final but if they do, they'll miss four league games, two FA Cup games and two league cup semi final legs wouldn't they?

Does it matter?

If they decide that they're not in our plans, then what harm does it do waiting to see if they can get a fee for them? If, at the end of the window, they can't sell them, then buy them out. Either way, those two shouldn't have any impact on buying other players if that is the plan.
You and me can think it shouldn’t but Ange has said that they want outs before anyone comes in

AFCON is 13th Jan -11th Feb

Wed Jan 10 Carabao Cup Semi-Final (1)
Sat Jan 13 Manchester United A – 3pm
Wed Jan 24 Carabao Cup Semi-Final (2)
Sat Jan 27 Emirates FA Cup 4

Tue Jan 30 Brentford H – 7.45pm
Sat Feb 3 Everton A – 3pm
Wed Feb 7 Emirates FA Cup 4 replay?
Sat Feb 10 Brighton & Hove Albion H – 3pm

Last AFCON which I think was the same format, the group stage was 11 days so any players that go out in the groups could realistically be back for Brentford

Here's a 25-man roster, as of today.

16 @ non-HG players (17 max.): Richarlison, Perisic, Son, Kulusevski, Solomon, Bissouma, Bentancur, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Porro, Royal, Romero, Van de Ven, Sanchez, Dier, Vicario

4 @ U-21 players: Sarr, Udogie, Phillips, Veliz

5 @ HG players: Forster, Austin, Skipp, Davies, Maddison

RW a glaring issue, IMO. Son playing there might help? Or Porro w/ Royal @ RB?

Get to January with a committee of #9s in Richarlison, Son and Veliz and then reassess, unless Lukaku/etc. falls in our laps.

5 CBs for coverage, IMO. Davies 2nd-choice LB + LCB cover in a pinch.
Sanchez #3 CB, Dier/Phillips 4th/5th.
Sanchez + Dier BOTH being non-HG is a problem for our roster. I'd let Dier walk and find an immediate upgrade on Sanchez.

Love our midfield, but I loved our midfield this time last season... until we loaned-out Ndombele, Lo Celso, and (less so) Winks. Højbjerg probably needs to go if he expects to play anywhere near the amount he's received in previous seasons at Tottenham.

Our GK corps: still TBD.

INJURED: Bryan Gil, Sessegnon
LOAN: Rodon (Leeds), Devine, Spence, Scarlett, White
SELL: Lloris, Tanganga, Højbjerg, Reguilón, Dier
Plenty of cover at RW. Richy, Solomon and Porro. For me, the issue is the #9

People who said Bissouma couldn't be the six should be publicly shamed at this point. You know who you are.
It’s not that he can’t be it. Simply that he might be even better further forward.

I absolutely love him to bits, but let’s wait until we’re really under the pump to see if he’s a natural six. Think people are getting a touch carried away. He looked pretty average in that Godawful two, so it’s not like he’s a marauding midfield monster.

That said, I’m just as excited by Sarr, so keeping Biss as the 6 is fine by me.
