AFCON is 13th Jan -11th Feb

Wed Jan 10 Carabao Cup Semi-Final (1)
Sat Jan 13 Manchester United A – 3pm
Wed Jan 24 Carabao Cup Semi-Final (2)
Sat Jan 27 Emirates FA Cup 4

Tue Jan 30 Brentford H – 7.45pm
Sat Feb 3 Everton A – 3pm
Wed Feb 7 Emirates FA Cup 4 replay?
Sat Feb 10 Brighton & Hove Albion H – 3pm

Last AFCON which I think was the same format, the group stage was 11 days so any players that go out in the groups could realistically be back for Brentford
Even thought about a potential replay!
Great stuff!

Good to have a bit more flexibility though for Jan

I've no clue how the land currently lies:

Since Jan:
OUT:

Lucas
Danjuma
Rodon (EPL-HG)
Winks (HG)
Kane (HG)
Lloris > Expected
PEH > Expected
Tanganga (HG) > Expected
Dier > Expected

IN:
GLC (back in)
Udogie (now in)
Maddison (HG)
Phillips (HG)
VVD
Veliz
Solomon
Vic

????:
Gil
Sess (HG)
Reg
Ndombele
Spence (HG)

It's said: "#Tottenham are expected to make a move for Brennan Johnson before the window closes, if they can sort out their squad numbers."
Since when have squad number been an hindrance to buy players
Angie, "Boss, I need a new CB."
L & L: "Sorry, you have to wait as we haven't worked out the squad numbers yet. And it may take until after the transfer window closes to sort it out."

2 domestic cup matches we might miss :
FA Cup Round 4 - 27 January
League Cup 2nd Leg - 24 January

Just depends how deep into Afcon our lads go but it can be up to 7 matches (including 2 cup matches)
Presuming they are both fit. One or both could be insured and not go anyway. Not to mention if they are both in good form and in the team.
Not too mention how deep their respective teams go into the tournament.
So many "ifs" and "buts".

HG update for you :
Club trained – 2 ( Skipp, Austin) ....... others possuble are Tanganga, White
Other Assn Trained – 3 (Forster, Davies, Maddison) Others possible Spence, Sessegnon
u21's might include Scarlett. Phillips, Dorrington, Donley et al but also Sarr and Veliz under PL rules

But with 5 HG, unless we buy other HG players we are limited to a 20 man squad of players over the age of 21 plus unlimited number of u21 (including Sarr)

So including Sarr and Veliz your squad can't exceed 22 players (Edit - including Udogie as u21 player means squad can be a max of 23 players)
HG rules/requirements are the main reason why English player values are (**mumbles under breath, regains composure**) at-a-premium.

Unsure if this outcome was an expected result, or an unintended consequence, and, if/how Brexit's meant to affect issuing work permits, etc.

Dier + Sanchez is squad-space-killer. Lloris and Reguilón as well.

This blog appears to be fairly regularly updated:

Number (of players) in the squad.

Basically we already have 6 more players than we can register. Wild

I don't get why teams aren't bumping the prices up?

How is any Ligue 1 club selling Brighton a CM for 16m euros after they just sold Caicedo for a prem record??

Because Brighton will just walk away, and move on to the next on the list - that’s the model. They aren’t interested in overpaying for anyone because that’s how their model works. If there’s no inherent value in the deal it’s not viable.

Sarr will become a club-trained/HG player next August -- if I understand the conditions correctly -- that his loan to Metz doesn't affect his 3-year club affiliation requirement.
