Still think Lo Celso could go if the right bid comes in. The squad is too bloated and only a few players seem to have genuine interest from other clubs.
If Lo Celso goes then we have to replace him otherwise we have no Maddison cover, this doesn't solve squad bloat.

Lo Celso will get minutes, just not as many as he wants, but fuck him, it’s a reverse Ndombele situation. We need him as cover so don’t want to loan him and no one on the continent will pay what we want/need to replace him.

But overall I agree with your point. As a club we do better with signings at the bargain end rather than the expensive ones who all seem to flop. We need to look for value in the market.

GLC has to be smart enough to know that rotation players do not get used until a few weeks in when the schedule has 2 games a week. If he's not, then let him pout. Our midfield has been fantastic and zero reason to rotate right now.
Orban and Tosin would be fantastic sounds. Especially we if can manage Dier going to Fulham.
Davies needs to stay this season. He's a good squad player, consistently available when needed and a good leader. Next summer we need to move him but he's not one that should go this year.

Most players don't give two hoots, ovrr joining a nig club and where they will get paid a bit more.
Maybe clubs use it for miderating their spending but it's a poor excuse now akin to a red herring, why a player won't go to a club.
Could easily say Sarr was MOTM against United for us and was the difference in the win. Very cheap option. It's not about money spent, it's about finding talent.
