Shaking Head Reaction GIF by GIPHY News

Dear god would it really cost the club that much to pay off Hugo’s last year and let him sort out his future for himself?

I’m not arsed enough to argue it passionately but Rice’s defensive numbers are exponentially better. In fact; nobody has better defensive numbers.

I would say Rice is the 2nd best defensive midfielder in the world, after Rodri. Woolwich fans already think he’s nailed on to be captain.

in 2021/22 - Bissouma had better defensive numbers.

Editing this as I posted the wrong year for Bissouma - in 2021/22 id argue they were very similar indeed.

in 2020/21 Bissouma is better at most defensive actions for sure

Yeah, Bissouma is very good. Much better than Bentancur.

Weird that Rice shades going forward metrics there though.

Probably to do with the role Bissouma played for Brighton - will be interesting how it compares to his attacking role this season.

This is per 90 Rice vs Bentancur in 2021/22 - not much in it

This is per 90 Rice vs Bentancur in 2022/23 - again not that much in it

Didn’t know that Brighton signed so many players and sent them out on loan.

Looking at Sarr and Udogie under Ange, it’s pretty clear this is the model most likely to get us top class players.

Veliz is the next in line for that pathway. Phillips probably too.

Credit has to go to Paratici for having the vision to bring this model to the club
