After watching yesterday's match, our top priority should be a fast, right-footed RW imo. I've defended Deki earlier on in this thread and I still like him, but his lack of acceleration is a bigger problem than I thought. This comes to show when Porro doesn't overlap but goes into the midfield to support - then Deki's technique just doesn't seem to be enough to beat his opponent 1-on-1. I know Deki scored but this wasn't so much because of his skills than it was because of Bournemouth's lacking defense.

Next should be a new CB. Davidson Sanchez just can't be our back-up CB.

And finally, if the money is there, a striker could be a possibility. However, I have faith in Richarlison. He works like hell and I'm confident when he gets his first goal this season everything will come easier to him.
Bizarre that anyone who saw yesterday would say we did not as an absolute priority need a striker and then a player the combo of Sarr/Hjojberg or a returning and fit Bentancur.

So we're that desperate for transfer news that we're discussing whether the scum that is Mason Greenwood is worth a punt?

I'd be happier with links to Alex Greenwood.

No way on planet earth would we be looking at Greenwood.

I defend my post a fortnight ago slating so called celebrities seeking to influence by public statements ,(to leverage themselves) but for us to even consider signing such a character (at this stage) would not be tolerable.

Most people, aside from very few deserve a second chance in my opinion but there is a time and place, and this is neither.

That we are desperate to sign a striker is a mockery of planning and any degree of foresight.

Kane all but announced his intention and anyone with reasonabke eyesight could see Richarlison on his own is light years from being enough.

Fcuking shocking by the club, and yet maybe worse is there are some so called fans who don't think we need a striker. Just bonkers.

I reckon we’re probably done for the transfer season for incomings and I’m ok with that. In terms of starting 11, I think we’re looking reasonably good. Striker is probably the one key position we lack someone with quality but every other position, I think we’re ok. We have 35 players in the first team and 5 of them are looking like they’re going to go out on loan so there’s 5 others that need to be offloaded before Friday. That will be the priority. Get to January and we’ll see how we’re doing. We’ll have made a lot of changes this summer regardless, let’s bed them in

Why are you ok with this? You are literally Levy’s wet dream. Like you say, we badly need a forward because Richarlison just doesn’t cut it and we sold Harry for 100 mil, so what is the excuse? If we sign zero players now, I think most Spurs fans will be angry at Levy once again leaving us short. I’m fully expecting him to just do that.

Only question I have:

If we want him, why weren't we in for him before he went to Saudi?

If we only want him because he's now on a free, fuck that. ID players, choose your top priority and go get them.
I agree with you, but maybe we did enquire earlier in the summer, heard the Saudis were offering him £192k a week and thought faaack that.

If the Saudis now get rid by paying up his contract, he might feel £100k a week at Spurs will do nicely

We need a striker, a RW, and a backup CB.

That ain’t happening. Wonder if there are any yoots that could cover one or two of those roles from the 21’s? Or from existing squad eg Porro cover RW

Inwould be happy with one stellar attacking player, ideally a striker but if not a wide forward that comes straight in eg Nico Williams

Man Utd look at Spurs left-back Reguilon after Shaw's injury

Manchester United are in the market for a left-back following Luke Shaw's injury and Tottenhamfull-back Sergio Reguilon is one they have looked at.

The Spaniard can leave Spurs this month.

United boss Erik ten Hag confirmed on Friday that they would look in the market "for the right player" following Shaw’s injury.

Diogo Dalot started at left-back in Saturday's 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest, with Alvaro Fernandez on the bench.

Tyrell Malacia is also out injured and Fernandez is a loan target for Granada and other clubs.

But Man Utd could face competition for Reguilon's signature with Fulham also eyeing the 26-year-old as an option before the deadline.

However, the Cottagers also have other targets and are currently trying to sign Timothy Castagne from Leicester.

Reguilon has also been a target for Real Sociedad, but they are close to signing Woolwich's Kieran Tierney.

The only downside to a promising start is that it gives Levy the excuse to feel we have done enough and he will be happy to let it pass without spending any more .We certainly do need a couple of positions to be strengthened if at all possible .

We sold our best player for 100M and we won’t buy anyone you are good with that? Lol

We need centre-back, a striker and midfielder.

I agree that the B'mouth defense (Kelly?) was a bit slack but still credit to Kulu for anticipating the ball and his finishing was sublime (he hit the ball delicately, with the right force and gave it the right direction where he had to twist his whole body).
