I reckon we’re probably done for the transfer season for incomings and I’m ok with that. In terms of starting 11, I think we’re looking reasonably good. Striker is probably the one key position we lack someone with quality but every other position, I think we’re ok. We have 35 players in the first team and 5 of them are looking like they’re going to go out on loan so there’s 5 others that need to be offloaded before Friday. That will be the priority. Get to January and we’ll see how we’re doing. We’ll have made a lot of changes this summer regardless, let’s bed them in
If, having just banked around £100m for our World class striker we're done strengthening our starting Xl then it's an absolute fucking disgrace. We'd basically be just waiting for the wheels to fall off the good start to the season we've had.

And you're OK with it!!

Question for Spurs fans, its hypothetical and the chances are next to none but here we go...

United are clearly going to offload Greeenwood and rightfully so, however when he was at United if im not mistaken he was seen as a pretty big talent and his numbers were decent? Spurs are void of many attacking option so I wonder...would the fans be fine with Spurs getting a good talent for free albeit with a very questionable off the pitch issues?

Naturally due to what he did not many if any would like the kid but since chargers are dropped he's still going to be playing football.

How would you lot feel about getting Greenwood for free?

Obviously goes without saying I hope the question does not offend anyone as im sure it might be a sensitive topic.

I am almost positive a majority would say no to him but I am curious what everyone opinion would be from a pure footballing perspective?
I was hoping the next time I opened this thread that I wouldn’t see this question.

After watching yesterday's match, our top priority should be a fast, right-footed RW imo. I've defended Deki earlier on in this thread and I still like him, but his lack of acceleration is a bigger problem than I thought. This comes to show when Porro doesn't overlap but goes into the midfield to support - then Deki's technique just doesn't seem to be enough to beat his opponent 1-on-1. I know Deki scored but this wasn't so much because of his skills than it was because of Bournemouth's lacking defense.

Next should be a new CB. Davidson Sanchez just can't be our back-up CB.

And finally, if the money is there, a striker could be a possibility. However, I have faith in Richarlison. He works like hell and I'm confident when he gets his first goal this season everything will come easier to him.

Porro as FB moving into midfield is part of Angeball - Udogie dos the same thing from LB - so that's nothing to do with Kulusevski.

I certainly understand the argument that a RW with more speed would be good - but atm Kulusevski has great technique to finish and does get into good positions to do so as he showed v Bournemouth.

I think all the forwards atm are struggling to jettison Conte's instructions to pass backwards/sideways and minimise the risk of losing the ball by not attacking - complete contrast to Angeball where a core requirement is attacking with individual players given a lot more decision making ability within Angeball rather than Conte where players were having to only make moves to follow a very tightly laid down Conte system. So up to Ange to assess whether Kulusevski will change to fit his system better or not - and that might mean giving Kulusevski months to see if he adapts..

I suspect Ange is looking at the situation, and in the short term the alternatives are either playing Solomon (or 2nd choice Porro) so a new RW is possible, but its one of several positions 'might' strengthen and his final choice might be either a centre forward or right winger with the choice being made on the basis of how well the available players fit Ange's system.

Main thing for me this week is that we have to move out players. Sell or loan - we have to get rid of any who are not needed. Don't want those who are not engaged with the project around.

Then next priority is a CB. Need quality cover for Cuti and VDV.

I'll be ok with that. I know people want a striker or winger but I'd base that on outgoings. What we have atm will work I reckon but if Perisic goes, for example, we'd need to replace.

Then get straight to work on improving further in January.

We've certainly done some good business this Window :

Vicario
Van de Ven
Maddison

Plus Udogie's debut season playing for Spurs

I think everyone would agree they were some of our best players today ..... and its only their 3rd game playing with the rest of yhe team.

We all want a couple more players, but lets also be thankful for who we have already got !
And this is what we should be focusing on. We made 5 transfers, two of which are prospects and the other 3 are nailed on quality starters. How many windows do you remember where we signed 3 quality players that went straight into the starting XI?

Our recruitment has improved significantly, so I'd rather we continue down the path of signing quality players, rather than just signing players for the sake of it. If that means we don't sign anyone else this window, because we haven't identified a quality player, then so be it.

And maybe we can get Harold Shipman as the head of our medical team

No

And people need to chill with this Greenwood thing, there's no scenario or hypothetical scenario we will sign him and neither should we ffs

Why’s he playing for the champions league finalists ?

I’m picturing some goofball on an inter forum in 2019 asking why, if he’s so good, Kane is playing for Tottenham.
Inter got there through the most favourable knockout draws probably in the history of the competition, they got Benfica, Porto and AC Milan en route to the final, the only halfway impressive thing being that they knocked Barca out at the group stage, but it's hardly the best Barca team of the last 20 years and they were having teething issues in Europe under Xavi going back to the previous season.

And besides if its so great playing for a CL silver medalist why will he leave them to join us who finished 8th last term? Oh yeah, because Italian football is destitute and he is very gettable for the right cash... yet no serious elite team is even interested enough to test Inters resolve. Hmm.

Comparing La Liga to Eredivisie. There should be an adjustment factor to these graphs for league quality/difficulty.

Just a bit of fun mate.

I have never heard of the guy. Just seen that he's been linked with Burnley - quite like Kompany's talent ID though. Though Newcastle's talent ID over the last few years has been okay too and they're also linked.
