Spurs Web Opinion

The injury to Shaw means that United need temporary cover at left-back, which is why they are seemingly exploring loan options.

However, I do not think Tottenham would want to aid a direct competitor, which is why the Lilywhites will be much more receptive to an approach from Fulham or from La Liga sides for Reguilon.

Spurs web confirming themselves as having shit opinions.......

Reg to Man U will hurt them and help us....... Not the other way round.

This is the best transfer week isn’t it? Loads of rumours fly out from everywhere, most of it bollox, but as soon as you have debunked one the next one comes along.

Johnson - the links seem very solid, I would be surprised if that one doesn’t happen now.

More intriguing is CB - Who we gonna get? Tosin not interested in coming here, Tapsoba too expensive and Schuurs all gone quiet.

If there are no ins by Wednesday I suspect utter mayhem in here

Woah just saw that Ange and Tottenham are interested in his former player Jota who is already set to leave Saudi Arabia!

I followed Jota a lot the last two seasons especially last season with Ange, He has everything Spurs need out wide. Dribbling, flair, creativity, the ability to beat a man in the 1 v 1 and end product. He was the consensus best player for Celtic the last two seasons and I think he would be a fabulous addition to Tottenham.

But who is Jota for those who have not regular followed him?

Jota is part of the same generation of Benfica youth products such as Joao Felix and Ruben Dias. After being unable to break into the Benfica team which is normal for a lot of players from their youth academy like Cancelo or Bernardo Silva and also failing to make a impact at Real Valladolid, Jota was loaned to Celtic in the 2021-2022 season. What a move that ended up being for him as he finally found his feet and became an instant fan favorite scoring 13 goals while also grabbing 14 assists helping lead Celtic to the title. Jota displayed mouthwatering performances as well as having a great partnership with other host of really talented attacking talent playing their trade at Celtic Park. Last season he scored 15 goals and provided a further 12 assists.

PLAYSTYLE:

- Jota is a very skillful winger who primarily likes to operate on the left. Jota like many Portuguese players is very silky on the ball using deceptive body feints and step over to get passed his man. Comes off like a showboat at times especially at youth level but at Celtic he was really been able to add a end product to his play thanks to their progressive style of play. Jota enjoys cutting in a lot and is quite a good passer and crosser of the ball. His movement with the ball at times reminds me of Joao Felix and you can tell they were brought up together.

STRENGHTS:

Dribbling, Passing, Crossing, anticipation, creative

WEAKNESSES:

Shooting (despite his 15 goals last season this is a area that needs work), speed (not the fastest for a winger but his skill on the ball makes him deceptive), heading, Showboating (sometimes he is a bit too flashy).

Looks good, but what's with the black power salute after he scores?

No he isn't.

He's not 40m ahead of him.

He's faster and had more opportunities. Gil is a world better technically and in terms of football intelligence.
Johnson is faster and is a better finisher. His movement is also so far ahead of Gil's its like there's a massive age gap.

He absolutely is ahead of Gil in development by a mile and to argue any different is delusional imo.

Gil when given the chance(which I admit isn't much) hasn't shown anything really. He's also so physically slight that he probably won't be in consideration to start any meaningful game for a long time.

So we are entering the most emotional time of the year. Everyone prepare yourselves.

I don't want the same histrionics we saw during the last week of the last few Transfer windows. Let's all try to compose ourselves and keep the suicide threats to a minimum. Always remember to connect with family/friends and go outside for regular walks. I'm leaving a link below for those of you who need someone to talk to. If we stick together, we can get through this week.

£50m for Johnson is a lot but he offers us a proper out and out pacey winger. Beyond that he will give Kulusevski genuine competition. That is just as important, if Johnson is stuck on the bench because Kulusevski is playing out of his skin to keep him there then the transfer has done it’s job.

It’s why we also need one more CB beyond just injury cover, competition for places will help us big time. Look at our midfield depth with Maddison, Lo Celso, Bissouma, Bentancur, Sarr, Skipp and Hojbjerg. That is proper good.

Paying 50m for Johnson would be a blow, but I don't think it'd drive anyone towards suicide.

What movement is better?

He's faster and had more opportunities, that's it.

Johnson isn't any less skinny.
