He’s been woefully mismanaged. Not that it would’ve made him a world beater or anything, but at least he’d have been more appealing to clubs.
He has one decent game on his debut. Since then he's been injured or shit.
We (spurs) got too excited and signed him up to a contract too soon and now we're stuck with him.
All these links to the Milan clubs are insane. He's another lower league player.

Poste saying you don't need 50-100 million to find great players, and talking about Mitoma as an example, so I'm disappointed that our world-wide search for talent has ended on Brennan Johnson.

Surely there are better options out there? And if not (this late in the window), maybe it's better to keep our powder dry. Give Gil the 2nd RW spot.
It’s a head scratcher.
I don’t see anything in his CV or having watched him for Wales as well as Forest to justify buying him.
He is not a bad player, but he doesn’t “move the needle” for us. It’s the kind of signing I thought we had moved past.

Feels like they have been trying to keep a bunch of deals on ice until they can shift people.

if you are Tosin or any of those players on ice, it's not exactly going to make you feel like a priority for the club and even if you want to come, you will want to feel like a priority for any club you join...

That's a bit different to being left dangling while we openly court alt. targets.... Players will generally accept the 'we need to sell X first' scenario as a matter of practicality..... Even if it still means they might accept other offers in the interim.

Agents certainly aren't gonna let it deter them either.

That’s what i hate about our chairman. He’s such a results based chairman and never sees the bigger picture. Spurs lose our 1st 3 games, he probably go out and buy 1 or 2 players. No doubt they would probably be desperate cheapo deadline day options, but he would buy because under pressure. Us starting off brilliantly gives Levy that excuse to balance the books and make do with what we have. If he had any ambition to help this brilliant manager, he would be going all out for a forward and CB to help him. Guarantee Levy does absolutely fuck all on deadline day. There will be a feeble 25 million bid for Brennan Johnson ( vintage Levy) which will clearly get rejected. I’m not sure how any other Spurs fan can see it going any other way
We aren't making a single signing unless more players leave. And I don't mean 1 in 1 out.
It'll be more like 2 or 3 out for every in. Levy is far too tight to allow players to be paid to not be in the squad.
But he's also far too tight to write off fees to help them move on.

Possibly, but it’s hard to say what his actual level is considering he’s never played a consistent amount, and was moved from position to position early on.

Bullshit.I've posted lots of examples of Levy clearing the deck.

i think the opposite, think we will overspend on him like rich in a panic
With what?

Outside of that one game vs Liverpool he's been below average at best a d truly terrible at worst.
In that run of games against Chelsea where we lost in the league and league cup, he looked like a rabbit in the headlights. One of the worst defensive displays I've seen, and we have had some shocking defenders over the years.

I think Brennan Johnson would be a good signing.

In terms of what he offers, he'd be good competition on the right wing and can play in other positions.

The homegrown issue must be another reason we are keen on him.

It's not obvious to me but I do have a fair bit of trust in Ange to identify the right players for his system.

Could be a similar buy to Gordon, who I was also unconvinced by, but is now coming good at Newcastle.

Johnson has put up really good g/a numbers to be fair. 18g 10a at 20 years old in the Championship isn't to be sniffed at. 8g 3a in his first season in PL at 21. Ivan Toney at 25 was at 12g 5a in his first PL season at centre forward, with penalties. Ollie Watkins at 21 and 22 had a pair of 10 goal seasons at Brentford in the Championship.

Again, not really watched Johnson close enough, but maybe there's something in his game that the club can see a path to him being a high level hg player.

Whether Johnson or not, our track record, Maddison apart on concluding deals quockly does not provide hope this gets done.

Sounds like too many variables and if this is our one option, then it's less than 50:50.

The player wants the move or he or his agent would have shut this down.. We saw that with our ex-number 10.
