Should have got him before VDV tbh. He's no idiot, knows he'll ride the bench for us majority of this season barring injury to one of VDV, Romero or Udogie, already 25, probably sees himself going to Monaco to start regularly and play his way to a big move back to England in a starting role.

Concerned now, We cannot let Sanchez go to Forest unless we have a replacement lined up, under no circumstances do I want Tanganga or Dier 1 injury away from the first XI, would be a fucking nightmare.
Playing time is one of the main talking points when a "established" player signs for a new club. If Spurs had lied to him by telling him he'd be the starting CB this season and then sign van de Ven, you think Tosin would be happy then and motived being at Spurs?
Besides, his mind seem to be set on Monaco, so Spurs may have ended up not getting van de Ven (or Tosin) if they'd waited to sign Tosin.

Ok so now we need 2 CB’s before the window closes. Dier and Tanganga won’t fit the system and Sanchez off leaves us Romero and VDV.
He wants to play though dude (Sanchez), similar to Tosin.

I’d be fine with one to replace Sanchez, then gamble Davies/Phillips as emergency cover if needed.

Just seems Ange has a very established two, and (I and he) would rather most budget went on forward areas.

Whatever happens the next few days of the window, what a fu**ing breath of fresh air this manager and side is. We have a new lease of life. Personally I think Johnson will be a nice addition to this squad. Time will tell.

Yeh but this is best case.

Romero isn’t the most reliable for injuries, Davies is a decent left back and ok as a CB in a low block but looked a fish out of water playing CB in pre season in a high line and that isn’t his fault. Dier and Tanganga forget it.

So that leaves Sanchez as our only fast back up who could play the role. It’s taking a big risk we don’t get injuries or suspensions. Unless the club feel Philips or Dorrington (who are big and quick) are ready but they are both 18.

To play this system all our CB’s will need pace and physicality. 4 for 2 is better than 3 for 2. We might be lucky and few injuries this season but CB isn’t a place you want to take risks.
