We had the likes of Dier, Lloris and the like just happy to coast along in this team. Knowing they were getting paid handsomely. The fact Lloris also hasn't found a club is quite frankly a joke. This is a France World Cup winning goalkeeper, yet he can't find a single club in one of the top 5 leagues?

I think this is the exact type of signing we should be going for. Young, hungry players that fit into Ange’s system.

We have made some obvious signings of more established players (Richy, Ndombele, Sanchez, Aurier, Lo Celso etc) for huge fees that haven’t truly paid off.

For his age and the physical attributes he possesses, I think £50m would be a fair punt on BJ. It is very little risk in this market.

His pace is something we are crying out for to bring a new dynamic to our play. He is pretty much the fastest player in the league.

He has never had a chance to play in an attacking on the front foot style team surrounded by creative players. He could be a revelation in that scenario.

All these past it players should have been sold at around their peaks not given stupid long contracts. Their value has plummeted due massive loss of form or age.

Dier
Winks
Lloris

All should have been sold when there was interest in them. 50m for dier to united, 80m for Dele to Madrid etc. Reinvested in players like eze, Bellingham etc when they were in the championship.
 
Toney was literally my dream Kane replacement on paper until that awful interview about him loving Woolwich and wanting to join them or Liverpool dropped. At this point it’d feel pretty disgusting signing him - but unfortunately he will almost certainly be the best striker option available in January.
