What we learned yesterday is that playing a full B-team is and always he's been a shit idea....

Yeh, if 9 of our starting XI get injured then yeh we're fucked. That's not a news flash for us and 99% of other teams.

Some of those lads that played yesterday have already shown the can rotated or be subbed into the first XI and do what they're paid to do.
If Romero or Bissouma get injured Davinson and Pierre have to play.

The main issues vs Fulham were caused by those 2.

It's not about this deal making or breaking the window. It's the lack of ambition in display that it's not even sad at this point, it's disturbing. We've sold our greatest ever goalscorer and we're ending the window on a POSITIVE net spend, in an age where clubs like Burnley are spending £100+M.

Yeah this is fair but I don't see how the Fati deals makes us more ambitious because it seemingly looks like everyone is upset that this deal broke down and now everyone is losing their shit, I should be surprised but I'm not. 😆

Can't say this is especially shocking. When levy completed the VDV signing back in the day he became, in his own eyes, a transfer window God. He then went about pissing off every chairman there was, with every transfer dealing he did, thinking, ironically, that he was the big man🤣.
I think clubs now love getting one over him, much to our detriment.m, no doubt many cannot be bothered dealing with him, so is it any wonder both incomings and in particular outgoings are so difficult to complete.
I thought last summer was bad enough, when the necessary defensive issues were not dealt with, but to sell our crown jewel and leave that and other areas short, with a current net spend of 11ish mill, is bordering on gross negligence. Ange has stated numerous times he expects a busy few days, many changes, but in fact he might just get his eyes open to who he is really dealing with.
As a part time Celtic fan I was slightly disappointed we went for Ange, knew the football would be good, but in the short term Celtic lose out and in the long term or perhaps even short term Levy will screw Ange as well, 20+ yrs under Levy tell us to expect nothing less, bald cant.

That’s an excellent point. The answer probably belongs in the ENIC thread in truth (which I have on ignore).
So, here’s the argument (which I’ll leave you to answer). If you were Joe Lewis —- glory and thanks from TFC posters aside — would you invest enough of your fortune to gather enough trophies to put Spurs into the super-club strata?
Q: How much winning would you need to do? Well, quick answer would be to look at a club like Chelsea —a London based club with 2 UCLs in the last 13 seasons along with other honors— and it hasn’t moved their revenue needle hardly at all. Do Leicester with their recent League title and FA Cup win have more fans (outside of Thailand) than Spurs? So, if it’s going to take sustained success then how much?

Q2: What will that cost (if FFP allows it).
Assuming success is related to revenue (especially over the long-term) then Lewis has to make up about a 200m per annum gap with the two biggest English until there’s enough success for it to pay. And that’s to be competitive — not to overtake — and doesn’t include the cost of catching up with City in terms of the better global processes and development that they already have in place and efficiencies they derive from being global.

Ok, that’s the first two parts taken care of.

Q3. How much cash outside of Tottenham/ENIC do you think Uncle Joe has with enough liquidity to finance this?

So, that’s why I think that ENIC will do just enough.

I swear you foul voted someone for 'off topic posts' literally about an hour ago because they were talking about ENIC.

The drop offs are just so severe:

Udogie > Davies
Biss > PEH
Romero > Sanchez
Maddison > Gio

Of course the impact is much worse when you stick all the backups on at the same time but even just a couple will make all the difference.

Midfield is the key thought. Without at least one of Biss or Maddison on the pitch we are a completely different side. Lets hope we avoid that situation.
I reckon there's an attitue problem with the likes of Davies and PEH, they play much much better in league games but put them in a "nothing game" like Fulham and they'll absolutely let you down. Never seen either play well in one of these games.

Some twat yesteday was trying to start a bet with me that we can replace the 30 Kane goals cos our FBs, CMs, will score 5 goals each. Oh yeah, and Richarlison could score 15.

Some people are beyond help.

Don't care who score them, but we are capable of getting 70+ league goals this season without Kane.
Something we haven't done without him since Mark Falco was our top scorer.

6 scored, 64 goals to go, 1.83 per game.

Though I have a feeling "own goal" might be our 3rd or 4th top scorer.
