When are we not? I think you mean we need to be panicking MORE than our usual baseline low grade panic stations lol
It's not about this deal making or breaking the window. It's the lack of ambition in display that it's not even sad at this point, it's disturbing. We've sold our greatest ever goalscorer and we're ending the window on a POSITIVE net spend, in an age where clubs like Burnley are spending £100+M.
Just a thought but maybe we have done the deal for BJ and dropped interest in the injury prone guy?
Strange that they got better in the market bringing in a proper Sporting Director while we let a jailbird run operations as a consultant.West Ham, fucking West Ham, having bought Edson Alvarez, JWP, and Kudus, have done a 100x better job replacing Declan Rice than we did replacing Harry Kane.
Let that sink in.
That’s an excellent point. The answer probably belongs in the ENIC thread in truth (which I have on ignore).
So, here’s the argument (which I’ll leave you to answer). If you were Joe Lewis —- glory and thanks from TFC posters aside — would you invest enough of your fortune to gather enough trophies to put Spurs into the super-club strata?
Q: How much winning would you need to do? Well, quick answer would be to look at a club like Chelsea —a London based club with 2 UCLs in the last 13 seasons along with other honors— and it hasn’t moved their revenue needle hardly at all. Do Leicester with their recent League title and FA Cup win have more fans (outside of Thailand) than Spurs? So, if it’s going to take sustained success then how much?
Q2: What will that cost (if FFP allows it).
Assuming success is related to revenue (especially over the long-term) then Lewis has to make up about a 200m per annum gap with the two biggest English until there’s enough success for it to pay. And that’s to be competitive — not to overtake — and doesn’t include the cost of catching up with City in terms of the better global processes and development that they already have in place and efficiencies they derive from being global.
Ok, that’s the first two parts taken care of.
Q3. How much cash outside of Tottenham/ENIC do you think Uncle Joe has with enough liquidity to finance this?
So, that’s why I think that ENIC will do just enough.
I reckon there's an attitue problem with the likes of Davies and PEH, they play much much better in league games but put them in a "nothing game" like Fulham and they'll absolutely let you down. Never seen either play well in one of these games. The drop offs are just so severe:
Udogie > Davies
Biss > PEH
Romero > Sanchez
Maddison > Gio
Of course the impact is much worse when you stick all the backups on at the same time but even just a couple will make all the difference.
Midfield is the key thought. Without at least one of Biss or Maddison on the pitch we are a completely different side. Lets hope we avoid that situation.

If you look at the time stamps on his tweets, that man truly does not sleep.Every time I see Romano tweet '....HERE WE GO!', I want to melt his nipples.
They had a plan, they have a director of football.
so basically we spent fuck allWe spent the Kane money on VDV, vicario and Maddison.
I think we did better but it’s close.
Anyone who thought there was big signings after Kane was deluded.

You know it´s a good thing not cheating right? We are the opposite of cheating. Financial handicap of £0 net spend, similar budget of most div 2 sides
Some twat yesteday was trying to start a bet with me that we can replace the 30 Kane goals cos our FBs, CMs, will score 5 goals each. Oh yeah, and Richarlison could score 15.
Some people are beyond help.
We should’ve been able to spend that money anyways. Don’t be so browbeaten. We can afford a forward. We can afford 3.We spent the Kane money on VDV, vicario and Maddison.
