Exactly. No point in just buying players for the sake of it anymore.

That being said, I think not getting CB cover was a fuck up and a big risk that hopefully doesn't bite us in the

The last few windows have made me feel like we will continue to build our squad smartly over the new few and with some academy players to come through in the next couple of years I think in the medium to long term things are going to be fun again.

Indeed, this has been such a hard window to asses because in the context of where we were in May and how much work we had to fucking do in relation to the players we had to replace and Kane leaving the club, we've actually done really well to come out with the squad we have now.

The CB thing just really grates though and it's a massive negative for me, I really feel that we should just have bit the bullet on Dav and got someone else in, I'm not sure the manager is actively pushing him out the door though.

Anyway if you were to ask me how I'm feeling, I'm positive because we have undertake a pretty good rebuild if you ask me and we have a manager to guide them and improve them - I'm at a better place with this club than I was a few months ago put it that way.

One was far too expensive, another was at Chelsea and the other was a kid wanting guaranteed playing time...and we had players that didn't want to leave to make room for them.
We had offers for Sanchez and we would have had the opportunity to pay Dier off if we'd got someone in as he's clearly not fancied. Perhaps if those mentioned were unobtainable they should have done their research better to find someone that was and maybe not leave it until the last day. They had 3 months.

Despite what Ange said about the elephant in the room, being that we needed another CB, I wonder if he cooled his desire a bit (until Jan) after seeing Ashley Phillips play in training. The kid looks far more ready for the step up than I expected.
Considering we offered 20m for Lloyd Kelly, I doubt it. Levy just pushed it to the last minute and fucked it up.

6/10.

Positives: Finally turned the page on Kane who had ZERO intention of being part of the next Tottenham Hotspur cycle, and as a bonus they got him out of the Prem. Constantly pandering to him by making moves to keep him happy was actually damaging the club overall. I will die on this hill.

Upgraded immediately in 3 (GK, LCB, no.10) starting positions, possibly 4 (LW). Not many teams can honestly do that.

Negatives: Couldn’t shift the deadwood permanently - especially the foreign registered players- and are deffo a competent backup CB short. I saw Billie T was semi-joking on Elon’s app about the fringe players conspiring to leave on a free to punish ‘COYS, Daniel’. Considering the way Levy has priced them out of moves time and again instead of just cutting his losses, you have to wonder.

Mitigating factors: European football is genuinely in trouble. Atletico would have come up with the PEH money 4 years ago.

Our CFO is on gardening leave and our DOF is under house arrest so considering the lack of proper leadership at the top, Rome wasn’t built in a day. The club is a mess and Ange wasn’t gonna fix everything in one window.

According to Fabrizio they got €15m for Carrasco. And although this may be wrong it says here Barca have to pay Atleti €7m for a loan deal.

Nope, not yet anyhow.

In any event, these amounts aren't enough to change the panorama apparently

Another season of just going through the motions to finish 8th....pathetic
Fuck enic and levy...
We lost kane , only got 1 cb and paid 50m for johnson.....joke.. ..
We did buy maddison, which is a brilliant signing and ready to go....but he's not enough, and that was before kane left........season over already imo

Good grief, the spoilt, petulant whining, the sense of entitlement, the hatred being poured onto contracted players for not following the wishes of anonymous keyboard warriors is a sight to behold.

Still, I have no doubt that the most vociferous of these will put it behind them now and thoroughly enjoy our efforts to continue our fine start to the season in seven hours time.

Maybe.

YIDS YIDS YIDS

Yeah, we're such a spoilt fanbase aren't we.

We'll drop points today, Burnley will be well up for it, cross our fingers durng international break hoping key players don't pick up injuries, should beat Sheff U at home but then it's Woolwich and Liverpool. Yeah, nah, I think both games could get really messy.

The season will trundle on, some good games and performances, some bad, we'll get to Jan and there will be talk of Don Levy when he manages to sign a Bayern or PSG reject on loan at the 11th hour, after shifting out more deadwood on loans with no obligations, we'll play a weakened team in the FA cup and go out before the end of Feb, there will be some talk of making a Top 4 push but alas, lack of depth kills us and we scrape into the EL or ECL on the last day and ENIC lovers and Levy Enthusiasts hails this as a successful season.

But we've moved even further behind our rivals and now there are rumblings that players like Romero and Bissouma want CL football and here we go again.

Nothing will change until Levy and ENIC fuck off.

Seeing as you know how everything is going to play out it's probably best you find a new hobby

Can you give me the lottery numbers while you're at it?

Wonder how many tweets Chavs would need to announce all their signings.

Our club congratulates itself for doing what everyone else does i.e. buying new players.

I guess we should be grateful they bought anyone, as should Ange.

I struggle to think of a less ambitious club than ours, possibly Palace?
