Who was the big Diaby fanboy on this sub? I want some answers. He doesn't look all that.

The last player signed was Johnson costing £50m so its quite clear that whilst he would have liked an extra CB (and I'd like to be a billionaire) he was very happy with an extra attacking player - and Angeball is all about attacking play.

So yes, ideal world an extra CB, but real world is if nobody great is available as a CB, and a veery good attacker is, its no surprise we get an extra attacker in.

The logic quite simply is playing one game a week (except December) we'd need to be unlucky to lose a CB through injury before January transfer window.

Ange comes over as a positive guy so getting 3 first team starters in positions needed to be filled (GK Vicario, LCB Van de Ven, creative Maddison) plus squad (Solomon - with 2 assists on debut) plus Udogie back from loan as First team LB plus Johnson as an option to replace Kulusevski or Richarlison in the First team means he's got most of what he wanted.
The main thing is that Johnson would be a starting 11 player or at least close it and the CB would be a firm backup.

You gotta take the first option in that scenario.

Are you saying you don’t expect the club to have a very decent budget in January to address CB and possibly CM if that’s where the opportunity is?

No.....

"How much is left in the pot right now...? You can't answer that question any better than I can....... "

"I mean fair enough if you don't agree, but try quantifying how much money we should have 'left' to spend in Jan without dredging up the exact same things about income v net spend."

Read rather than strawman pls.

By all means....... You tell me; how much money is left in the pot for Jan........?

(It's not clear why you should be opposed to anything in my OG post, tbh..........)

We should have been able to afford both an attacking player and a back up CB. It's not similar to you wanting to be a billionaire. Our owners are billionaires, and the fans pay for the most expensive tickets prices in the country- and this season some longstanding fans have been kicked out of their seats.

It wouldn't be 'unlucky'. We have Sanchez and Dier as back up CBs, that's negligent squad preparation.

Whether that includes £50m put in by the owners or not its still a net spend of over £100m+ on these figures
Of course, however we are focusing on ENIC amongst this.

Is Chelsea £1Billion spend, yes also of course, but truly it’s likely a factored price they agreed to buy with Roman. Likewise, our owners blew their trumpet about injecting £150m.

How disingenuous is it, to say they are putting £150m in, only to reduce our usual spend in the Windows the injection happens?

bus-conductor bus-conductor and lots of others.

Haven’t seen him enough to have an opinion, however the intensity of the Prem is another level to the Bundsaliva, so often players don’t have the lungs/legs/blood N3 (however you want to see it).

Some adjust, level up, many like Sancho don’t.

Good little player. Would swap him for Kilusevski in a heartbeat. Quick, two footed (more left) and works pretty hard.

stand by that.
Maybe be better than Kulu but that's not a high bar and not necessarily worth £50m or so they paid for him.

We'll see I guess.
