Either way, at least there is space and money for 3rd CB in January.

Wonder what level of CB they look at

For some (higher caliber) targets it will likely be the same story as Tosin.

Game-time remains a factor this season..... Injury permitting we may not even get to see what Phillips is made of in the interim.

Loan and aim higher in the summer? (Spitballing)

Gallagher fell through reportedly when Hojberg didn’t move,

Based on that it looks like we didn’t get a 3rd Cb because D&D didn’t go.

If Brentford had said yes re: Lloyd....?

Clearly no intent to register Dier.

....Based on these things DIRECTLY related to CB; I'd argue otherwise.

Gallagher/PEH was it's own set of circumstances.

Ultimately; I'll stick with what Ange said.

but O'Keefe is talking utter nonsense to begin with.

If Lloris "dug heels" because of years of mismanagement and false promises" then why did he put out a statement at the start of the summer announcing he's leaving?

Because he is/was hardballing the club to pay out the rest of his contract. That then gives him freedom of choice to go where he wants and get a sign on bonus.

Honestly, club could have done that for Dier AND Lloris and given their years of service it wouldn't have been unreasoble.

Also would have opened a squad space for a 3rd CB as well.

Well it's not ideal we should have got another quick senior CB even if it cost big money....But I feel slightly ecstatic. The blokes doing exactly what the NFL coach said, making room in an established dressing room that has failed for success to enter. Break up the entire leadership group bin longstanding failures and put belife in young players to step up. Loris (all but released) Kane (sold) Hojbjerg for sale hugely diminished role) Dier ( clearly unwelcome) Tanguy (Kebabs) Sanchez (sold) Winks(sold)

Funny that Conte was probably on triple his salary for being a "winner" and moaned constantly about not having any winners and the club not having a winning culture, but did nothing to build one. Probably because he doesn't know how to.

Ange has said none of that and just gone about changing the culture.

Re Sanchez, thought this was crazy when first mooted after the window shut but cant help being happy that he's finally moving on. He seems a good lad and the booing was a disgrace but he's been poor for years now and its long overdue.

Delighted about Ndombele but have little doubt he'll be back again next summer.

why should the club give them that? theyve failed here, why should they get a bonus for failing? theyve had their luck already by somehow being at spurs as long as theyve been, pair of drags. gigs up, reality is going to hurt.

How have we let Sanchez go with no backup CB’s?? Great he’s been moved on but an injury to Romero or VDV and we are in real trouble.

This makes no sense. No way can Phillips/ Davis be the options. Really troubling honestly.

The reports for weeks previous to us hearing about Hugo turning down offers was that the club would let him go on a free due to his years of service. There is zero indication that the club was an issue in any regard. You keep suggesting this but there is nothing saying this is the case.

Hugo rejected Lazio because he wanted to start.
Hugo rejected Newcastle for the same reasons.
Hugo rejected Nice due to timing and uncertainty around his role.

There is so little difference between paying out a player from their contact and letting them go on a free that it doesn’t matter in this situation.

Levy has always wanted, the wage bill under control, so not sure he is worried about anything else.
As it happens, I think Ange, puts so much trust and confidence in these young players, it will probably be alright until the summer.
