Got to say Son at left wingback didn’t work out that well when Poch tried it.
Took me a while to clock it but I understand why he threw the Carabao match.
He's not an idiot, he knows his way around football, when he said he was trying to asses his players that was clearly BS, he wanted to make sure he has this team playing 1 game a week, literally coach the fuck out of the players in the week and play at high intensity on the weekend, no other distractions, no excuses because this squad isn't built for midweek football - and that will give us a massive advantage over other teams who are constantly playing 3 games in 7 days.
Still don't like that he effectively threw the match but it will be vindicated in comparison how well we do and the progress we make this season.

I like his ruthless streak and he's so right, if a way of playing and a group of players have failed you need change. Its so clear the core group had gone stale, much the way Kaboul, Adebayour etc had when Poch came in.
It never stopped Pochettino from whoring himself out for that exact job though, despite winning fuck all.
Ange started 6 new guys. And Pochettino needed 6 months to bring one new guy up to speed before he was ready. I love what Poch did but that was a strange policy.
