Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Like the way he handled the penalty.

Knows he’s not getting anything from officials this year so just says he doesn’t understand the rule, when really he means that was a fucking ridiculous decision.

We haven’t had a decent ref yet
We've only ever got worse reffing after complaining. Refs in this league are like the corrupt police in America (and elsewhere), if you file a complaint they're gonna start harassing you.

For those that get fearful with the way we play out from the back….

You’ll have noticed in our 2 “toughest” games (and even against Burnley) that we’ve started relatively slowly and the high aggressive press from our opponents has made it relatively uncomfortable.

All of those team ran out of steam, you cannot press this side for a full 90 mins, it isn’t possible. That’s why we have dominated most games in the 2nd half this season.

Let’s take Odegaard today as an example; pressed like a mad man for 30 mins and then was too knackered to do anything for the rest of the game. It made him ineffective (along with Bissouma)

Our courage to continue playing out from the back is not only the right thing from a principal perspective, it’s also the right thing when understanding that the game is 90 mins long and it wears our opponents out.

If we’d have lazily hit long balls early doors today, it would have given Woolwich an advantage in terms of maintaining that press.

I don't want to hear any excuses from other managers saying they need time and money to get their ideas across to their players, what we have seen with Ange is that he needs neither just to get his team playing. He's put a lot of managers to shame including our previous ones in the way he's got his team playing after a short amount of time. That's what's so impressive - it's as if Kane never existed and he's given the players an air of responsibility and it shows - he's a top manager.
I'd be sitting him down with a new deal end of this season, as he'll be the hottest managerial prospect on the planet.

Make it a 5 year deal and back him the fuck up. Keep Paratici on for his "consulting," then bring him right back when his ban's up.

Lock in the manager, lock in the recruitment, strap in and hold on!

The football equivalent of rope-a-dope?

In a pathetic attempt to try and farm likes from the forum, you posted a list of quotes from people you've never met and had never had any dealings with. It's exactly what you accused me of doing, "absolutist, ignorant bullshit you did about a guy who you knew nothing about."

Irony isn't just a metal...

A list of quotes?

Where? Please point them out to me.

I posted one quote. Yours. And you've thrown your toys right out of the cot as well as providing further evidence of your propensity to make big claims without evidence.

List of quotes...

Hey lads

Aussie Villa fan here and came here to read the comments for some fun as I did when Ange went to Celtic.

I'm sure many will say the same as the Celtic lads did when I did the same and say it's just "because he's an Aussie", "hasn't managed in a league like this before", "has too much of a mess to sort out" etc etc but I can tell you this guy is absolutely the real deal and a serial winner.

From when he started coaching in Melbourne where he took his boyhood club to a title to every step he's taken since, he creates success often completely transforming where he goes in the process.

When he came to my club in Brisbane we were terrible even though we had guys like Danny Tiatto, Craig Moore etc etc with us who could play and were seasoned pro's. He had the very end of a season to assess the club, players etc and then cleaned many out who didn't buy into his "we never stop" mantra. People thought he was mad (a trend that's continued since when he arrives) but he brought through young, hungry players to complement the older players that bought into his methods and Brisbane changed overnight winning leagues and setting records for wins and undefeated streaks and playing some of the best football the league had seen. He's revered here for the work he did.

He then went to Melbourne Victory and turned them into league winners, he then moved to Yokohama F Marinos and did the same as he did in Brisbane taking time in a foreign country where he didn't speak the language, had to learn the culture but turned them around into title winners after a long drought as well with players and fans loving him there too. Celtic was next where there were plenty saying "Ange who" and club has taken cheap option, won't get anywhere here, won nothing etc etc and with no time before the season started, a completely disilluisioned playing group and fanbase and little staff turned them around within a couple of months and made them a completely dominant force on the pitch playing his style of attacking football.

He'll do the same for you and if players don't buy in, he doesn't care who they are, they don't last and players that want to create the right team culture replace them. He's tactically very good, demands high standards from his players at all times and is a fantastic man manager resulting in his players being prepared to run through walls for him. Read articles from any guys that have played for him including Timmy Cahill who is one of his staunchest supporters, they'll tell you, then look at his results EVERYWHERE, he's a winner.

Enjoy him and, as much as it pains me because one of my best mates is a Spurs supporter and he'll be insufferable, I wish you guys the very best. I'll be watching with interest.

DT
.....and now I think many of you guys get why so many fans of his previous sides and many Aussies in particular like me follow this man wherever he goes to watch the transformation of both his sides on the pitch and the fan forums off it! haha

He is a fantastic manager for sure but more than that he just builds such a feeling within the club, the players, the supporters it's impossible not to like him.

No riddles, no excuses, just hard work and straight talking while bringing a genuine human element to all he's involved with.

Enjoy the ride!

The anti-Ange sentiment was far greater on the Celtic forums when he was first announced.

To be fair though, Ange's methods took longer to gel up there - he dropped quite a few points early. He's only dropped a handful at Spurs and yet to lose to it's easier to see his progress/process.

That was a great test yesterday. Woolwich will definitely be top three this season so to go there and come back twice was a massive effort. They suffered a fair bit from losing Rice but... that's football.

It's getting to the point where anything less than 4th for Spurs will look disappointing. Hard to see anyone else breaking into the City, Liverpool, Woolwich, Spurs group this year but there's a long way to go.

Buckle up.

Hats down to this man for the work he’s done so far, happy to be proven wrong about him (athough my doubts have not fully dispelled). I hope we continue improving and I hope he’s properly backed in the transfer market because we can build a good team.

He is what he is, a no nonsense straight shooter:
His greatest asset I reckon is his genuineness.
And as he said, we will have the ups and the downs this season.
But he needs to be backed by all I reckon.
I am excited because this latest result is brilliant.
We have a squad that will not give in and that will frighten other clubs.
Looking forward to giving the Bin Dippers a touching up this week!
