Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

ANge-ball looks like De-Zerbi's balls. The only difference in execution thus far is-- Seagulls move the ball out a lot faster than the spurs boys. The Keeper also lofts it high up when he spots a team mate in an open space.

High risk as evident from yesterday's match. You backs must be extremely good with their feet and recover fast. Any mistake will lead to goal scoring chances and soft goals. You are basically camped in your quarter waiting for space up in the opposition's half.

I can already see a coupla of guys not suited for this play.

The best players for this system are - Kulu, Maddison, Bissouma, Udogie. . . .

Hate to say it but I think Harry would have thrived as well

The anti-Ange sentiment was far greater on the Celtic forums when he was first announced.

To be fair though, Ange's methods took longer to gel up there - he dropped quite a few points early. He's only dropped a handful at Spurs and yet to lose to it's easier to see his progress/process.

That was a great test yesterday. Woolwich will definitely be top three this season so to go there and come back twice was a massive effort. They suffered a fair bit from losing Rice but... that's football.

It's getting to the point where anything less than 4th for Spurs will look disappointing. Hard to see anyone else breaking into the City, Liverpool, Woolwich, Spurs group this year but there's a long way to go.

Buckle up.
A lot of the Anti Ange sentiment was aimed at the board.

After letting Eddie Howe jerk us about for months, it looked like a panic appointment.

I think yesterday was a great result possibly the toughest game of the season as it's come so early. So to go there and get a point is great.

A big difference between the two is that de Zerbi ball is one dimensional. If it isn't working, they'll still try doing what they do.

Whereas Anges offence is a lot more varied. The game between Spurs and Brighton is going to be one hell of a game.

Seriously though guys, we fucking told you so.

:ange-clap:

I was arguing with Spurs fans when we were linked (because of how much my Dad raved about Ange) and specifically asked them why his philosophy wouldn't translate to the Prem.

Not a single one could give me an answer and instead preached how he has never done it in a big league. As if that mattered.

It feels great to see he's doing as well as most of us thought he'd end up doing. Even if it's quicker than we'd have ever imagined.

.....and now I think many of you guys get why so many fans of his previous sides and many Aussies in particular like me follow this man wherever he goes to watch the transformation of both his sides on the pitch and the fan forums off it! haha

He is a fantastic manager for sure but more than that he just builds such a feeling within the club, the players, the supporters it's impossible not to like him.

No riddles, no excuses, just hard work and straight talking while bringing a genuine human element to all he's involved with.

Enjoy the ride!
I’m addicted to his powers of transformation. The rigour with which he pursues positive change is totally inspiring, and I fucking need it in my drab, mediocre life

Yes, he's only dropped points vs max points, which is a pretty odd comparator given our form in the last 10 games on 22-23. He hasn't dropped any points vs reasonable expectations.

When you've gone to Emirates and got a draw, and undefeated in 6, we can justifiably say it's working. It's early days, and we'll have hiccups, but generally there is good reason to believe the trajectory is upwards.

Loved Ange for years and followed him at both Yokohama and Celtic. Watched most of his matches on tv.

Thank god I don't have to read Celtic Talk anymore, couldn't understand the language!!!

To have Ange at my club is a dream come true. I truely believe we will win something BIG. It's just Ange's DNA.

The reality is that most of Aussies have known a lot about Ange for years where most on here didn't have a clue about him other than a Celtic nobody. To be fair, that is really 90% of the managers we get associated with - never heard of them as don't follow any other league than EPL.

End of the day, it doesn't what anybody thought of Ange. It's what you think now.

This is going to be bit of a long post, and I wasn't too sure where to put it but as it was a decision made by Ange then it fits well here. I wanted to highlight one of the key differences to previous seasons, and part of the reason why I think we are having more success this season.

The old leadership group not being given the armband/responsibility like before, and the transformation it has had on our team by giving the right people the right levels of responsibility.

I gave it some thought, and it is clear to me that choosing Son, Maddison & Romero was the right choice to help lead us forwards. I noticed many felt uncertain about those choices when the announcement was made stating that we need a 'voice', someone loud who can get a reaction out of the players.

Previously you would had the likes of Dier & Hojbjerg in that leadership group , and I think that was a big mistake. Not going to write bad about them as players (and they may be able to do a job as leaders in certain situations for this team, but more often then not our new group is a while lot better) but certain factors need to be considered.

We have to consider the makeup of the team and what we are looking to achieve and how we can get the best out of the players we have out on the pitch. The stereotypical loud 'voice' leader may shout and get loud when mistakes are made. But if you look at our lineup which is very young, I honestly think players like Bissouma, Sarr etc.. respond better to encouragement and being led by example. Son, Maddison & Romero are perfect for this.

Maddison mentioned in an interview after the game in regards to his mistake that allowed Jesus that chance, that they have been told to play that way. Positive football without fear of making mistakes essentially. He mentions it here about 1 min into this video:

With the old leadership group I don't think this would be encouraged. But we need this encouragement so we can go out and play the style of football that we are currently playing and the style of football we want to play.

Our new leadership group is about respect, setting examples for others around them, actively encouraging others and not giving them hell for making mistakes. This is currently allowing our young group of players to thrive and to play some of their best football without that fear. And that in itself allows us play some great football which can then help get us the results that we all want as fans.

Have seen the boss management style in places where i have worked and it doesn't work nearly as well as having true leaders. Have also seen the boss style appraoch in 5-a-side games and players would play in fear (or at the very least within themselves) of not making mistakes as to not then get shouted and abused. This just saps the creativity and the energy out of the team.

The get loud and point your fingers at others approach doesn't work for us with the team that we have. We need our team to be lead by example by players that are well respected within the team.

The older managers such as Jose and Conte went for the more archaic approach to leadership which looking back with the benefit of hindsight may have been wrong (It's difficult to say as our team has changed significantly since then so maybe this approach wouldn't have worked at that time - but who knows) .

Ange has changed the way we play football and he knows the best way to get something out of this team is too instil the right belief into the players. Those players having the right people to look up to and encourage them is vitally important and it is this modern approach that I think is part of the reason for our transformation.

Just my 2 cents..🙂

Like other Aussie forumites here I've been following this man's career for more than a decade. I consider him a genius, he is the real deal, the full package.

He rocked up at Celtic without a full blow assistant management team under the wings - it was just him and a suitcase. And then he single handedly created the change a Celtic, and had them performing within a few short months.

When he was announced at Tottenham I thought "lucky them". Boys and girls, what you are witnessing now is just the start. Let him sign two or three of his players in the next transfer window, and then Tottenham will be really making music.

Considering that Woolwich, City, and Liverpool have to grind through the UCL, you may just be pleasantly surprised at the end of this season. I have no doubt though that next season Spurs will be a genuine contender.

Enjoy.

My disagree is because I don’t think the Wanderers will finish top 3 :)
