"HYS" on BBC, is absolutely priceless tonight.
Apparently, we are the beneficiaries of an EPL/MSM/PGMOL conspiracy, and that is why we won today.
So many salty, delusional statements from Liverpool fans, and every other fanbase that hates us. COYS!

We deserve this for the shit refereeing at sheff United. Kulu felt like killing him sometimes yesterday. We are improving and hopefully we can win more convincing against teams not giving them a chance to squeak

In any case, Pool did well to hold the game when is 9 vs 11, not many can survive the onslaught.

We lost abit when madds came off with bisoumma. Skipp needs to up his game a little

So the latest now is that the refs and VAR knew they fucked up but the rules don't allow them to go back once play restarts.

My issue with the 'we thought the on field call was a goal' theory is that the VAR screen has 'Checking Disallowed Goal' in the top corner. Who puts that there?

I'm so glad this happened to LiVARpool. You know they're gonna run with it for a while and we can stay in the background just doing our thing.

That is not at all what I saw. We were struggling to play our game from the start because of their press, and it was only after the sending off that we started actually playing the style we've had this season but even then we were constantly exposed on the counter and very lucky with the disallowed goal. And the fact that we couldn't break their 9 man defence for so long was alarming honestly.

I mean everyone is allowed their own interpretation of a match, but I'm very surprised you guys thought we played well. I though we looked so much worse than any previous game this season.

We didn't play well apart from patches. They looked the more dangerous and created the better chances with 10 men which was worrying. Don't know why that is hard to accept.

We got the job done however which was the main positive. We definitely need attacking reinforcements from the bench as we can't be replacing Maddison and Son with the likes of Hojbjerg or Skipp.

When I have a little more time (tomorrow pm), I'll post something more meaningful, as I couldn't on the journey home, as my phone was dead.
But again, what a game.
Fortune favours the brave.

Obviously not...

But could we?
We're gonna do a Leicester
I Hope Please GIF

in the first 10 minutes a Liverpool player intentionally stops a counter, then kicks the ball away to prevent a quick free kick. Automatic yellow for every player this year. Except Liverpool. Gets a talking to.

On the first red , Jones who should already have been on a yellow clearly endangered Bissouma. Although it wasn’t malicious, it was a red.

At some point a Liverpool player threw a heavy elbow, no review. Later Jota 100% deserved getting sent off. That’s why they lost.

It was not 1 way officiating although that offside call was really pathetic. Everyone is just pissed because they almost pulled off the great escape. Well fuck them.

A great way to win against that shower, still doesnt make a dint for the penno in CL final. Liverpool get plenty going their way, but the offside is just typical of the standard of refereeing this year, both on the pitch and in stockley park.
Thought the Jones red was a red, his studs were high, accidently or not, it was a potential leg breaker. Jota similarly was plain stupidity, two yellows, no disputing either.
We were insipid attacking at times, yet the first time we fired a ball from the byline across the box it leads to a goal. Why did Son come off? It was very early on, possibly carrying an injury? We definitely need more options to break down teams, but Johnson and Bents coming back will be great.

To think they could have such a shitty protocol and just say “check complete” without even mentioning onside vs offsides is almost unbelievable.

It’s more believable and more fixable if the VAR refs were fucking around or incompetent.

The refs fucking up only means they aren’t competent. However a shitty protocol like that indicates the higher ups in charge of the referees are terrible at their job. I think that’s mostly been clear because of how inconsistent the refereeing has been over the last few years but this confirms it.

Hairy’s Post Match Thoughts

1. Unreal, thought we blew a chance for all 3 against a 9 man squad. That would of been an abomination.

2. Subbing Son was a mistake. Was he gassed?

3. Udogie is a beast. Maybe our best signing. Toss up between him and VDV.

4. And………… VDV has monstrous pace.

5. Lots of sloppy passing in the final third, shit crosses and corners

6. Sooooooo much possession but nothing to show for it. Shooting accuracy was poor. A lot of shots dribbled to the keep. No venom.

7. Kulu is a force bringing the ball through the midfield. Very physical, but I’m being underwhelmed with the final product.

8. Love all the possession, but ticky tack outside of the opponents box was counterproductive. If you’re needing a goal, just fire it in there and hope for the best in a parked defense with 9 on the pitch. Worst case is they clear back to your CB’s and you just reload. This was hard to watch today as the time ebbed away.

9. Allison was God-like or it wouldn’t of been close.

10. Second in the table

Whats with Gary Neville turning into a Liverpool fan? Last week he wanted Udogie off the field, Saka was supposedly destroying him, still gave him no credit. Today no red for Jones, appalled by the decision, could also be heard groaning and saying oh no as we broke up the field after a Pool attack near the end. You could have understand that type of crap from a former pool player, but from the supposed mortal enemy in a former Utd player is baffling. Mind you with some of the shite he talks you can see how he lasted so little time in management, his commentary is atrocious at times.

Sonny is playing injured by the sounds it it. Ange said he wanted to play but was only going to get an hour.

Agree about Kulu. Johnson would be the incumbent on the right if we had someone on the left. Need more quality in the next window.

Probably going to be an unpopular comment but wish Maddison, Son et al didn’t jump around like they’d won the CL after the match. Don’t get me wrong, great win and happily take it, but finishing against a team with 9 men and an own goal to win it in the last secs probably didn’t warrant that type of reaction. A couple of smiles, hugs and waves to the fans would have sufficed. Just IMO
Don't celebrate the win lads ffs

so basically one VAR decision was wrong which has also happened against us before and the other calls where correct and it’s a grand conspiracy to stop Liverpool.

Fuck off, whenever we get bad calls basically it’s shut up it will work itself out over the season.

Don't get sidetracked by the media noise.

It matters not, but do remember that had the circumstances been reversed, the media would be all over an undisciplined Spurs side managed by a Joey.

This result will not define our season, but it will harden the resolve of our youngsters in that side today.

Romero supreme ( a fucking animal)

Udogie, must remember to remove Mo from his shorts before tossing them into the wash.

Bissouma have a cigar

Porro my MOM

Vic's double first half save, quite stunning.

The only limit of this team will be injuries

Oh, did I mention Bentancur is back in five weeks?

COYS!
