Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We're talking about one player here. If we don't date to take on Luton without Son we are pussies. Even then we can still bring him on if needed.

That sounds good in theory, but in reality they could score a deflected goal, their keeper could have a worldy, VAR might fuck us (that is the norm - not last weekend).
It can easily turn into a horrible day. We literally beat Sheffield with the latest comeback in history.

You're using that one game to to justify starting a player who has been playing through injury for weeks now. A player who has had to be subbed early in the last two games. A player who had was a disaster last season because of playing through injury. A player who is important to our long term prospects in this season.

So what's the greater risk?

If there's a game to rest Son it's this one.

What are you arguing for? No one is saying that we 100% would have to start Son. I'd personally like to hear what kind of logic there is to start Veliz over Solomon.

I mean you can push "disagrees" all you like, in my previous post I presented very simple facts -

FACT 1 - just on 16.09 we were behind 0:1 against other relegated team, on our own pitch
FACT 2 - Veliz arrived to NEW continent less than 2 months ago; obviously the team language in Argentina was not English...
FACT 3 - Solomon has been in English game for 1 year and 2 months, in total playing part in 24 games within this time.
FACT 4 - Veliz has been involved in one senior game in the country and in that he came on as extra-time substitution.
FACT 5 - In each of the 8 games Ange has been in charge, there has been at least 1 player starting from list of Son, Johnson, Solomon - all of whom are known to be fast players.

But despite that you come out and suggest that throwing in a new player into side that would then also need tactical adjustment of whole gameplan (!) would not be arrogance?

Ah, but whats the point of arguing here. Ange is obv not as stupid as to underestimate EPL game to such extent.

Tbh without knowing the specifics it's hard to say. Based on how Ange has dealt with Brennan, how he took off Romero for feeling dizzy & how he's taken off Madders and Son in big games I think he's not one to gamble too much.
Players will sometimes have to play through injuries it's just about taking the right type of risk.

Wolves showed City what can happen in this league.

No Solomon… looks like Sonny will play now

FUUUCCCKKK.
What is it with us and wingers ?!?!
First Perisic gets freak injury and is out for the season.
Then Johnson pulls out of the NLD ... injured.
Now Solomon is out for months.
Sess is.. well always injured

REEAAALLLY fucking worrying. We do not have any depth left there, have we.
Just basically Kulu and Richie with Sonny carrying some slight problem. And then... fully unproven players like Veliz and Donley.

It is getting so desperate that.. may I...say it even... that we could consider giving Townsend contract until end of Jan ?!?!?! FFS it's not like we have options on the left... on right side, okay, push Porro to winger position and put Royal to RB. But in left we are without Perisic, Solomon AND Sessegnon already.

Gil back, Johnson after International break.

We should be ok

I’d be tempted to rest Bissouma for Luton. They won’t be pressing Hojberg so he will fine to play facing forwards and a good physical matchup for the way they play.

Doesn't change the fact that he'd be facing the possibility of playing Palace/Chelsea/Wolves/Villa/City etc...on a suspension once he gets another booking.

We need a clear the deck booking so he misses the easiest match on paper which is Fulham.
