Match Palace v Spurs - 27th Oct - 8PM

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He was crap all last season at LW and one of our weakest players the first 3 games this season until the move to CF. It’s not like he’s magically regained form; he’s now just playing a position he’s more suited for at age 31. He’s got enough pace to beat CBs but not outside backs and he’s one of the best finishers in the world and gets more shots from CF.

There’s no reason to move him to a position he’s much weaker at.

Disagree all you want.

We'll have to go some to get a better CF in the short-term; let alone the curve-ball of trying to break them in in January..... So not playing Sonny at CF for the rest of the season would be foolish.

He's statistically on track for 29 league goals this season. He likely won't get that, but what we need to do is load more bullets for him and see how close he gets..... Not sling him back on the wing in the name of another punt on Richy, expecting Veliz to explode in his first season or playing the transfer lottery.

Thanks for sharing. Just watched the highlights for the first time in years - what a game!

Rose’s pips it for me for context after the pompey semi a couple of days before. I was back of the PL next to the away fans and it went mental! Must say I miss the vibe that bring next to the away fans brought. The banter was part of the fun.

Thanks for reminding me, I was so pissed off at the Pompey semi final loss I gave my Goons ticket to my son.
He was directly behind the goal that Danny smashed in the winner!

Intentionally or not, he's gone deep into the squad twice against them and ended up woth last years CM pair Hojberg and Skipp.
We've looked horrible both times.

He's definitely got to sell the need for January transfers to Levy....
It’s also the only chance he has to get game time into those players. Couldn’t do it against Luton due to the sending off. All those guys that came on against Fulham needed minutes.

Going to be a desperate night for me...Will be at the game with my late wifes cousin in corporate in the sainsbury end ..
My wife passed in April, she was originally from Purley and all her family are palace fans.
Going to miss the eeeeeeegullls shouts and banter from her

Love ya darling.
Aww man 😞
My ol' heart broke a wee bit reading this earlier.
Hope you find strength on what will no doubt be an emotional evening and that the lads can put on the sort of performance that will ease the pain a tad!
Not that she would have approved of that I'll bet, bless her! ❤️

That's not a matter of poor depth. That's just the breaks when you've got both Biss & Benta missing and you have no Europe to service better quality players with game-time.....

Biss
Benta
Sarr
PEH
Skipp

.....for two positions and no Europe is about as good as it gets.

............And no; he's not fucking around trying to prove a point to Levy. He's not Conte.

He's also got a barely back to fitness BJ & Gil and long term injuries to Peri & Solomon to contend with.

Benta wasn’t and isn’t in the equation yet.

Ange wanted to bring in CM depth with Gallagher and other linked CMs.

Good time to play them, Eze/Olise out and a lot of walking wounded for them having to play on a Friday.

Was massive for us to be able to take a few of the lads off early last night.

I’m going unchanged except reintroducing Bissouma.
Eze/Olise being out is the sort of good fortune that accompanies good management and ends up in glory.
Not even suggesting it but what if…

He wanted more CM depth.

He also was prepared to let PEH go so he would have still had to lean om Skipp on Monday night.

It's delusional to you think we can sustain 6 top CMs with no Europe and our rep in the gutter as it was last summer.

(...and yes that includes Ange too IF he thinks like you are implying; which I don't think he does btw.)

I’m not saying Ange tried to lose to Fulham. I’m saying on both games vs Fulham our depth got exposed more than other games

Other games we weren't missing both our #1 AND #2 CMs.

Man City dropped off a level and lost both games without Rodri.... What exactly is this semblance of "depth" are you expecting here that they can't reach?

"Ange has used Fulham twice to show how shallow our depth."

"He's definitely got to sell the need for January transfers to Levy...."

Our manager's about winning games; not sending twatty messages to the board......... Conte's gone.

I’m not implying Ange thinks anyway at all,

But we do have depth issues.

We don’t have 6 CMs to keep happy. Benta isn’t part of the equation and hasn’t been yet.

How many of the CMs we have are likely to be part of the plan long term?

Both Fulham games have exposed that we need to improve GLC, Skipp and PEH. Possibly even Benta depending on what level he can get back to

Complain about CBs.... Fine; but as per what I've already posted..... CMs? Nah.

We don’t have 6 CMs to keep happy.

No... We don't. (See prev. comments as to why.)

Benta isn’t part of the equation and hasn’t been yet.

Of course he is.....

He's one of the 5 CMs we have in the squad. (AGAIN.... See prev. comments.)

You continue to be oblivious to the mess the club was in last summer and what that means when trying to appeal to players and build depth. (Can I suggest reading my previous comments......?)

(If you're genuinely sold on the idea that Gallagher would have been some game-changing upgrade on PEH whom was - in theory/rumour - lined up to be sold to make room for him, then great; but I'm anything but convinced and he allegedly didn't want to come anyway...... Presumably Poch told him he wanted make him a starter and sometime captain; which he has done!)

I think the only change will be Biss for PEH. Johnson never done anywhere near enough last night to merit starting on Friday
The Bissouma dilemma. It’s absolutely imperative he doesn’t get a yellow if he plays. I’m not against resting him again for Hojbjerg and unleashing him vs Chelsea.

Saar may not be fit himself and Udogie hopefully ok.

No Olise and Exe is obviously massive. Going into that weekend 5 points cushion WPI lol f be massive
We can’t pick a team based on whether a player may get a yellow card or not. This is the PL and if you show lack of respect or complacency you get your arse whipped.
Play Biss as he would have played regardless. The more sensible option would be to rest Sarr who had a knock while on international duty and also was not well. Play PEH as he did ok abd it is a squad game. I’d play rich tbh and play Johnson in right for kulu. He needs to play in the position he played at forest otherwise we won’t actually see the player we actually purchased on how he played for NF.

Exposed? We won 2 nil.

We took our foot off the gas, slowed the game down and they managed only 2 shots on target.

Bit harsh on Pierre, that.

He's been reliable and dependable this season and seemingly getting on with it and not complaining like a good pro.

There seems to be a fair bit of drop off from first team choices but in fairness, there aren't many players who can do what Yves Bissouma does and what PEH did do was give us a functional midfield and played his part in the press, for a sub option, it's going to be a drop off, but there's not many players who would do a lot better than PEH did on Monday.

I'd say we need to strengthen our CB and CF options before we look at the midfield, there's enough there to keep us on the tracks. It hasn't helped that Skipp hasn't quite adapted yet, but there's Lo Celso and Bentancur which should be enough to keep us going and they are all still being coached to our system.

I think we're being a bit forward because to be legitimate challengers we have to match the depth of Man City, but even then, how much less of a threat were they when Rodri was suspended? I'm not saying it's a direct comparison but certain players are always going to be missed, no matter what depth you have.

In reply to Ellis, both selhurst and norwood Junction are nearer stations so depends on train times and journeys. As for where to drink..... its all a ****hole. I can say that, I live nearby! Croydon is currently top of the league for stabbing in London, Thornton heath one of the worst bits probably.
