Rumors are that Boungiorno (means "good morning" in Italiano) is related to Emiliano Buendía (buendia means "good morning" in Spanish) and hailing from the "Early rising people" tribe![]()
Tottenham now want to sign 'aggressive' centre-back who's made more tackles than Cristian Romero
He's one of Europe’s most versatile defenders🤩tbrfootball.com
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have had a good season so far, but it’s clear as day that they need reinforcements at the back. A new defender is a priority next month, and the latest name to be linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is Buongiorno.
Tottenham have been linked with a move to sign Alessandro Buongiorno
When everybody’s fit, Tottenham have one of the best centre-back pairings in the Premier League thanks to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
The Argentine, despite his recklessness every now and then, is a fantastic defender. He has been excellent for Spurs since he joined them and is one of the first names on the team sheet every week.
Van de Ven only joined Tottenham in the summer, but he became an instant fan favourite. His pace and ability to play out from the back are brilliant, and he has been a real miss since his injury.
Apart from Romero and Van de Ven, Spurs don’t really have a centre-back of a similar level – nobody else is even close. That’s why they are expected to be on the market to sign a new one next month, and Alessandro Buongiorno is the latest name to come out of the rumour mill.
The 24-year-old has been fantastic for Torino this season. He is so important to them that when he missed three games due to an injury in October, his side failed to win any of them.
Buongiorno is expected to leave Torino for a bigger club in 2024, and a number of sides in Italy and England are interested in signing him.
Roma Metropolitan Magazine claim that along with Chelsea, West Ham United and Aston Villa, Ange Postecoglou’s side are keen, and they have no problem in meeting Torino’s demands.
The Italian club’s president, Urbano Cairo, is looking for a fee in excess of £26 million to let Buongiorno leave in January.
Alessandro Buongiorno has made more tackles than Cristian Romero
Alessandro Buongiorno has been earning a lot of plaudits for his performances this season.
The Sun revealed this month that old Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho also praised him after watching his play for Torino this term. The same outlet describes Buongiorno as ‘one of Europe’s most versatile defenders’ and ‘one of the most aggressive tacklers in Serie A’.
He has made 32 tackles already in the Italian top-flight so far this season (WhoScored) – one more than Tottenham’s Cristian Romero has managed in the Premier League this campaign (WhoScored).
The two defenders together could make Tottenham an extremely difficult side to score against.
I only saw the CL game with United where the comms spent the whole game sucking him off, alluding to comparisons with his English namesake then the fucker came on in the last ten mins and scored. He's a Swedish Veliz, with a few more tricks up his sleeve. One for the future. Pretty regular starter in Copenhagen. Big talent. Never seen him.
Although he thinks otherwise, this role is something that Dier can actually do too.If Todibo can play as a stop gap DM until Biss / Sarr returns from the AFCON, we could sell off PEH in Jan.
Not sure why we would. He has played every game bar one this season and Ange obviously trusts him in midfield.
Sure, he doesn't have the pace and passing range that Ange is looking for but is currently an essential part of our squad who can be trusted on the pitch.
Last season he was looking like he would be our next captain and despite now losing his place in the starting 11 he has never shown any drop in his passion and dedication on the pitch and is an absolute professional.
He deserves to play out the rest of this season and help us get our first trophy.

Looks like this one is a go-er, probably depends if Hojbjerg leaves
If Chelsea sell him to us during the middle of the season especially then they're mugs.

Saw something yesterday about Enzo possibly being out for a while with something called Pubalgia.
Would mean they end up leaning on Caicedo and Lavia if they sold Gallagher. Might put a spanner in the works.

When was the last time we took a player off Chelsea in his prime. Not since they were owned by the Russian.
That would give us:
Bissouma - out of form & a true liability right now
Skipp - should be a last resort thing, no more
Bentancur - coming back from big injury...will take time to hit peak form + risk of relapse
Maddison - as above
Kulusevski
GLC - are we really still counting on this farce?
That's plenty. not really...
