I don't know about that. Let Paratici keep making the decisions. I hate the cult of the manager, there's no reason to think Ange is great at scouting players because he's good at coaching them - the 2 are not directly correlated.

Isn't it well known that Ange picked Vicario over Raya?

I think his talent ID is probably pretty good for what he needs for his system.

And if he does sign for Spurs then many Spurs fans of course will demand that he play as well, if not better, than Romero from his first game...otherwise he's just a shite cheap option player and Ley's out
Get Dragusin in early and hopefully we can still get the bloke from Fulham with a lot of letters in his name sometime this month. Then we have a proper CB group for Europe next season, and can send Phillips out on an 18 month loan where he can actually get the experience we've deemed necessary before allowing him to play ahead of fucking Royal.

I haven't seen that, but supposedly Johnson was his pick, and there's a lot of grumbling about him here lately.

Like I said, I hate the cult of the manager in English football. I don't understand it, honestly. Weird that so many people think it's honestly possible to manage the coaching, training, and tactics of a world class football squad every single day and monitor the rest of the football world to determine which players might make good additions. Managers should be involved in transfers, but putting them in charge is baffling stupidity if you ask me. There's not another professional setting where 1 person would be charged with that much responsibility. It's like asking the General to manage the men, draw up the battle plans, and organize his own supply chain.

Nah. Give him the fucking cheque book.
It’s new year my Memphis belle.
We are close to being a force. Even with injuries/suspensions. Dirty Dan needs to grow a pair for a big gamble and roll the dice. I can see us going on another early season run again with a fully fit team. We can’t end up back in this “nearly men” position when we pick up suspensions and another outrageous run of injuries.
I’m sure Ange would tell the scouting team who/what he needs. I expect levy to facilitate it. This guy is a special manager for sure.

You’re a very good poster.

Is Nusa the real deal? Seems a risk buying from Belgium. How has he done in the CL?

Thanks mate. Also a regular troll and shitposter but I’ll take the compliment 😅

I don’t know shit about Nusa except a HLs mix and saw him play for Norway. I’m definitely not smart enough on fútbol to trust on scouting. But he looks fucking amazing.

Roony Bardji looks a talent as well but not sure he plays LWF

Paratici has proven to be very good at identifying players who are successful for us. Why would we change anything at this point? You're literally saying "what we've been doing recently has worked so well - let's change it!"

The way I see it working is Ange identifies where he needs to strengthen - Don Patricia will then present Ange with 3 or 4 options and they will work together and put them in order of priority and then work though the list.
I’m sure I read somewhere that we also have a transfer committee now? So if Ange identifies a player himself surely he would present this to the committee and then follow the above process.

What decisions does Paratici make? Lange is the DOF.

Paratici is still a ‘consultant’ at the club. I see Paratici as a more a deal maker, a guy who can get shit done with great connections, I think it was Ally Gold who said one of the reason Levy loves Paratici is his connections.

Lange and the scouts will obviously be the main drivers of identification but with Paratici still as a ‘consultant’ and part of the process.

Spurs would not have kept Paratici with him being banned if he was not good at his job. Levy does not hesitate getting rid of people - be it players, staff/head-coaches etc. - and he could have saved himself the money from having to pay Paratici (and saving money is also something L & L don't hesitate in doing if they can).
Don't you think Paratici was involved in the Vicario deal? Who do you think is the main string-puller in the Dragusin negotiations?
And then you have Kulusevski, Bentancur, Sarr and Udogi in the past.

Why not build up the expectations a bit more :D
Question is though: if they really believe he is a bigger prospect than Romero then why "only" demand €25-30M for him 🤔

Calciomercato.it have claimed that some insiders who have observed Radu Dragusin closely expect the Tottenham target to evolve into an even better player than Cristian Romero.

Like Romero, Dragusin struggled to get much of a look at Juventus and had to prove himself out on loan, with the Argentine shining in his temporary spell at Atalanta before the Bergamo club activated the option to sign him permanently, and with the Romanian doing the same at Genoa.

Could Radu Dragusin become better than Romero?

The outlet explains that the Genoa star’s preference is to move to the Premier League rather than to join another Serie A side

The publication adds that while Genoa would like to keep the centre-back at Stadio Luigi Ferraris until next summer, they are ‘ready to give in’ if they receive an offer of around €25m (£21.7m).
