Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nobody would like someone else getting the credit for the job that they are doing.

How often do you need to be told getting transfers done is NOT a one man job.

And in turn that means multiple people can take credit from being involved in successful fransfers.

Strangely if a transfer goes wrong, there are less people claiming involvement.

But if there are a lot more successes than failures, everyone is happy

Paratici is a fixer, a closer. I don’t think he has personally identified players through scouting, data etc….

I suspect he is a fixer and closer with a lot of high level contacts, but probably ID's some players in markets he knows (such as playing in Italy). But he like other transfer gurus will ask several people to check out players he thinks might be good buys (many heads are better than one)

I know it's not a one man job but it's one man that will mainly get the credit or carry the can. That's why Paratici was kept on, while the man helping him do such a good job was sacked.

Gabaccini said in an interview he wanted a top job, and as Spurs were not offering him a promotion from Chief Scout he left to go to another club.

I and a number of others on this forum have probably taken similar action to get promotions !

And as I have said before, projects such as player recruitment, if they are successful have many people happy to say they played a significant part. That's normal

we should go for palhinha in the summer. hes 28 but will be good for another 4-5 years. thats the sort of depth you want if youre gonna be big boys in europe. get rid of PEH and skipp and get him in.

They want us to lower the price and even after that option to buy as well, shows they are not serious, jokers.

TMW have now relayed the same information regarding Tottenham’s demands but they allege that it is not just the structure of the deal that is an issue for Juventus but also the transfer fee.

The report says Spurs’ £26m asking price is ‘too high’ for the Serie A club, who face a ‘uphill road’ in agreeing a deal for the Dane.

The outlet explains that Hojbjerg is keen on a ‘change of scenery’ and that Ange Postecoglou ‘could indeed give his blessing’ for the transfer.

However, the deal remains a ‘difficult’ mission for the Old Lady and might not be possible unless Spurs are willing to accept an option to buy rather than an obligation while also lowering their asking price.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do think Tottenham would relax their demands for Hojbjerg if they can get another midfielder through the door first. Conor Gallagher will likely be the player that the Lilywhites prioritise over the coming weeks.
It's an incredible situation of events that Barcelona and Juve can't afford to buy our players......

Have we signed anyone yet???

If not, sack fucking everyone!!!

I'm pretty confident we're bringing in Dragusin.

Pros
Big, tall, strong.
Quick (for a CB)
Good distribution
Strong defensively (won't get bullied)
Speaks English fluently
Young
Affordable.
Can play on the left or right

Cons
Seems a little erratic at times
Some of the challenges he gets away with in Serie A are fouls here. He can be too physical.
Touch is a bit shit at times

Those cons can be fixed though. The passing drills in training that improve the passing from the back will sort his slightly loose touch out. Coaching will sort some of the challenges out. Tons of scope for development, he's already an improvement on Davies/Royal and will be a good option along with Romero and Micky.

I'm keen for it, think he'll do well and gives us more depth.

Thanks for this breakdown.
If he is 80% of our last CB purchase, will be immense for us. Anything better is gravy.

Will be nice to soon be playing actual CBs at CB.
