Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We really shouldn’t have to wait a season or so for a £50 million pound player.
I think he is going to be one that will frustrate us because he’ll do great things and then in the next play he’ll be terrible.
If he would just show more desire and aggression in his game then he wouldn’t get the stick that’s been thrown about.

This doesn't make any sense

If he cost £10m for him you'd wait but not for £50m?

He didn't set his price tag

6 ft 1.
Strong in the air. Good turn of pace. 26 years old.

Really like the look of him.

Dragusin seems like a better overall buy- younger, more physically dominant, but I could absolutely see this guy being a very good fit in our backline. Not that Dragusin wouldn't be happy as #3 centerback, but I can see Itakura as being able to maintain a professional attitude in that situation.

Appears to be starting for Japan national team pretty consistently the last few years. Pretty interesting player, and we might be able to get him for less than Dragusin.

Offer Munich 150 to get Kane back and we win the league. Simples.
Even shipping two goals a game at the back with 4 full backs we out score any team with Kane upfront……

Johnson, not unlike Waddle was, not a crunching tackling winger and never will be. No winger is brought for that purpose.

He was brought in to fly down the wing, and put in defense splitting passes.

Johnson has one goal and four assists in seventeen games (some of those off the bench) in an injury ravaged team, where his main target has changed position (Son/Richy) and has played with Madders, and Kulu, LoCelso being on the inside of him in midfield.

He has been carrying a couple of knocks, and is only just fully fit, working with a new team, system and totally different demands from his manager.

He's just 22, but hey lets dismiss this kid.

Some in here are fucking morons when it comes to assessing a players worth, ability and talent.

Name me one of our forward players (not injured) who could have put that ball across to Richy on Sunday from the right hand side?
2 assists in his last 3 games.
I would be delighted with a similar ratio for our remaining fixtures.

West Ham have made an approach to sign Tottenham Hotspur outcast Eric Dier as David Moyes looks to add depth to his squad, according to FootballTransfers.

The online news outlet reported [1 January] that Moyes is looking to add another experienced player to his squad in the January transfer window and the Hammers already made initial contact with Spurs.

It is understood that the club see the 29-year-old as a Harry Maguire-like centre-back, who they were linked with a move for during the summer.

West Ham
Experienced mind

With Dier’s contract ending in 2024, Spurs could be forced to sell the player for a cheaper fee instead of letting the veteran leave for free at the end of the season.

The England international is clearly no longer part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans and is believed to have already sanctioned a move in January, having made just four Premier League appearances and one start.

It has been a devastating season for Dier so far. He was one of the most trusted, highly regarded players at the club before Postecoglou became manager in the summer, but has been shunned after the additions of Micky van de Ven and the deputising of Emerson Royal and Ben Davies at centre-back.

West Ham
With West Ham enjoying a successful start to the 2023/24 campaign, they are set for an extremely busy second half to the season of Premier League and Europa League fixtures and will need reinforcements, especially if Thilo Kehrer is to depart the club.

However, West Ham have the ability to attract much bigger names after winning the Europa Conference League last season and as they push for the top four spots in the Premier League.

It will be the potential price that will attract Moyes to the signing of Dier, being one of the best pound-for-experience defenders in the top tier of English football – 365 appearances for Spurs and 49 international caps for England.

Ange asked for early signings if we don]t have at least two signings ready to go for the Utd game, you'll know that Levy is still not listening to what the manager wants.

Agree. I think he lacks bravery, both with the ball in that he doesn't use this allegedly terrifying pace to get at his opponent and he also seems timid and afraid of the contest.

Talented for sure but jeez for 50m we need a lot more from him. I am keeping the faith for now but BJ is starting to annoy me.

“Keeping the faith for now”

He needs a lot more time than “fans” like you seem prepared to give him, god help the kid

Grow up and back our players.

Good move for Eric and Spurs.
With regular games he should get into the England Euro 24 squad.

He didn’t choose the fee so the £50m thing is irrelevant.

I can see why some of us get labelled ‘fickle’ now based on your attitude.
