Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

They both are to be fair.

Werner at least fits the system..
We need a player who gets goals and assists.
He will rarely get either.
Like I said, I'm not a Richarlison fan, but his upturn in form puts him comfortably ahead of Werner. Chelsea were mugs to spend what they did. He had probably 2 decent seasons in a weak Bundesliga. He hasn't even got back to close to that level in the 2 seasons he's been back and is now surplus to requirements.

With the amount of chances we create, if you can't score in this side as a striker, you're not cut out for this level.

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on, hopefully there's an option to buy in there in case he does hit the ground running and score 10+ goals this season.

Brilliant stop gap signing and if he comes and flourishes it’s genius from us. He fits the Ange striker template, stay between the posts and don’t get too involved in the build up,great movement and can finish. Very similar striker to Kyogo at Celtic but better even in the link up if needed. He can also play wider if needed.
He’s maybe lost his mojo in terms of scoring goals regularly but maybe a change of scenery and style will see those goals flowing again.
He’s also looking to get back in the Germany squad for the euros so we would have a hungry player on our hands.
For the Chelsea haters, just look past that. Every signing we’ve made under Ange has been scoffed at apart from Johnson every one has been flying and the ones who were here that were nowhere near it have stepped up.
If this is true and Ange wants him then trust him.

I'm non plussed about this transfer, glad it's a loan and we are not buying him, he's more of a threat than Gil and Johnson that's all I know.

Could work out to be a masterstroke, could fail but worth a try as it's risk free.

Wasn't expecting a top forward to come in in Jan regardless, Summer is different though.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. 15 years ago the cunts could take Berba without any issue at all from us. Fucking glorious watching their downfall.
Man Utd, English Barca without the on-pitch quality.

Think this is linked to Martial, who needed to leave to free up FFP/Wages, as this week it was stated they wouldn’t exercise the year option on him (think they want to sell, but maybe he’s refusing waiti g for a bumper free), leaving them unable to sign Werner as his squad replacement.

For me, I'm deeply unimpressed with this and massively underwhelmed. If other clubs had made this loan we'd be taking the piss. Thankfully it's just a loan. Another 'body' I guess worst way.

This will probably come back to bite me in the arse, but the more I think about it, the Werner moves seems really smart.

The worse that can happen is he send him back in six months. He's versatile and will be a better wide left player than Gil. If it clicks, we might just get an extremely fast, experienced striker.

I’m not against Werner. He suits Ange’s system. He’s rapid and can play across the front line.

He had issues at Chelsea which can’t be overlooked, but I trust Ange to identify the players he knows suit his system. He’s not put a front wrong yet.
