Sold the best striker in the world for £100M, signed his replacement on a free (Mr Fuk Inno Wan)

:levywhoa:
That's such a lazy argument. We are on track to score more goals than in any of the previous 9 seasons when Kane was in the team, bar the 2016/17 one. And 15% more goals than the average of the past 9 seasons (including the 2016/17 one). And all that with injuries galore and our most creative player missing more than half the season so far.

So no, not signing a striker is the least of our problems.

Since the summer we've signed the following attackers:

Johnson - 50m
Veliz - 13m
Maddison - 40m
Solomon - Free
Werner - Loan
+ We have the 2nd highest scorer in the league.
+ We have the joint 7th highest scorer in the league.

No attempt has been made to replace Kane though. 💩

I don't rate Gil but maybe it's best we keep him until at least the summer being that Solomon looks like a write off?

Richi, Son, Werner, Kulu and Johnson for 3 positions isn't enough cover imo.

You could also add Gil, Scarlett, Donley, Veliz and Solomon (when/if fit), and Santiago (LW) who has been on bench quite a few times.

Plus Kulusevski will rotate between CM (probably less now that Sarr is back) and RW.

And given the number of games, if Gil left it wouldn't be a disaster as there's a fair few bodies plus Kulusevski, so I don't think we will run short of players in remaining 17 games of season

How different is this window with Johan Lange in place?

Yeah, it has been a little bit different and I've been less involved than I was in summer it is fair to say. It's good and obviously this window is a little bit trickier because I had games, in the summer there are no games so if I needed to put more energy into that side of things I could.

Obviously we've had games and with Johan there and his group of people working alongside him, it has just meant I have had less involvement in a lot of the ordinary stuff and my role stays specific now to what it should be around the final decision (on transfers).

How does this recruitment system compare to your time at other clubs?

Everyone works differently. Johan works differently to others and I've always found that as long as you are working with good people who are all aligned, irrespective of the set-up you can usually get good outcomes.

The one non-negotiable for me is I need final say. That's the one thing I insist on and only because the responsibility should lie with me as to that decision because I am the one who will put the final decision into the place he needs to be.

Aside from that, they all work differently, but I've enjoyed working with Johan and his team. I am sure going into the summer we'll be in a good place to make sure we again try to take advantage of the fact we can make our squad and team stronger for what is ahead.

Sessegnon out. This time grazed fingernail opening a door. 😀
I heard he saw himself in a mirror, got scared and shit himself so hard his arse prolapsed.
SHUT IT YOU SLAG!

What blows my mind is that John Thaw was only 33 when that first aired. I mean ... how? He looked in his 50s.

Any transfer news anybody? No? Bye.
He was an alcoholic and heavy smoker from the age of 12 (smoking, no both, you'd hope anyway)
By the age of 15 he looked 77

As I said before, our new style of football is what replaced Kane. Which is actually better than having Kane, because you are not relying on one player to get you goals. They come from all over, which makes it more difficult for teams to contain.

I'm more than happy to concede our front 4 is still a work in process; but the suggestion that we sold Kane and then just sat on our hands is utter bollocks.... From one of TFC's more prolific sources of bollocks.

Careful.

There's certain posters who will take offence to this and misconstrue this as you saying we are actually better without Kane. You're a brave man.
