The fact that it was Johnson who was the closest to their two biggest players near the back post for the first goal is just terrible organisation. Leave defensive set-piece coaching aside. Surely the players have a bit more sense than seeing their smallest player responsible for Cucurella and their 2 biggest players in a vulnerable area and thinking it's ok?

Some of these players really aren't as bad as they're performing right now, Maddison for one I think will definitely come back strong next season, I think he's come back in too early from that injury and was relied on too much to bring the spark back to the team and I think the pressure has got to him. There's a few though that just need to fucking go in the summer if we are serious about improving, Kulu is just not good enough, whatever it was he showed in those first 6 months has well and truly deserted him now, he never seems to play clever passes in to onrushing attackers like he used to, haven't seen him ping a crisp long range pass into the path of Son on the left in a fucking age it feels like. Bissouma I think could definitely turn it around but we would be wise to get a 6 in who can rotate in when he's out of form and reliably do what is a very important job in this system, breaking the press and supporting the defence.
Son is absolutely fucking cooked, we need to sell him this summer while we can get some money for him off Name value, I love him for everything he's done for the club but he has been utter shite since coming back from the Asia Cup and has played an awful lot of football, wrong side of 30, it's time for us to bring someone in who can make that LW spot their own for the coming years, and I don't think that's Werner. Wouldn't mind him as a squad player but if that's our move to shore up the left wing I fucking give up.

You say gio is crap but when he comes on he adds some intensity and quickness. Far better than kulu that is for sure. Gio looks to get the game moving. He may not be ideal but he offers something.

In the time it's taken me to write that rant, I've calmed down a bit: I saw some effort tonight, but the foot came off the gas too often and I wonder if it's because our players are knackered? I was praying VdV slowed down towards the end, as he put in some back-to-back-to-back sprints.
