And then Ange tried to dismiss it and admitted that we don't prepare for the opposition at all. 🤣

Proving Dier was right. 🤣

It gets worse……

4. Letting Davinson Sanchez go after the window shut. We all knew his limitations on the ball but he is rapid as fuck and was MOTM against Barca in pre-season. Selling him left us with Dier and Davies as our back ups for a high line system. Utterly batshit, & predictably the season fell apart as soon as our starting pair got injured.

5. Playing the EXACT same formation every single game irrespective of personnel available or the opposition. Zero in game adjustments.

6. Zero minutes to youth products despite having the best performing U21 team in the league.

7. Saying mate every 5 minutes, don't forget that one

Our side is as strong as it gets barring us signing a couple of wide players and maybe a CM in the summer. The rest of the signings will be rotation back up options.
agree with this. we are not improving the back 4 unless its a signing for major money which wont happen. keeper is good but needs to work on being stronger and not being bullied at set pieces, so hes not going anywhere. i actually think the midfield is better than what its showing but is being majorly let down by the shite they have to work with in front of them. give them a competent front line and they will be thriving imo.

get 3 new forwards in and our first 11 is a match for anyone, city are on the decline. its falling apart there and even KDB and rodri have looked off it last month or so which is very worrying for them. plus all the charge stuff coming to get them later this year, they wont be the force they have been i dont think.

hate to say it but the scum are going to be favs for the title next year. however, they are not an elite side. they are good you cant deny that but i still think they are a way off from being elite. we need to get that front line sorted....then we need a manager thats actually going to adapt and be a bit more logical.

He does need to be backed in summer but being proactive the board need to tentatively have someone in mind if we have a bad start next season and need a manager around october/november time. Very disappointed with maddison since hes come back from injury. Classic tottenham syndrome players get a big move then dont have the desire to push themselves to limit. Just like the payday and get england call up. Annoying.
You’d hope with a shrewd operator like Lange in post that would be a given.

When the player's comments were put to Postecoglou, the Spurs boss said: "It's probably something you'd have to ask Eric, I don't know what you mean by tactical work. Everything we do is geared on how we are going to play our football, so for me by extension is tactical work."

Illuminating, not that illumination is needed if you've watched the team play.
What team do you really support?! 🤔

I’m curious, as having a wee squizz through your 90+ posts there doesn’t seem to be one single positive one relating to Spurs since you joined a couple of months ago?!

Its the level of detail required in the prem, ultra small margins matter and thats why you need specialist set piece coaches, data analysts etc. Just rocking up on your own and farming out jobs to Mason and Jedinak all looks a bit, dare i say amateurish. The fact we now apparently need to refresh the coaches shows it was all a bit ill prepared and cobbled together. Not all his fault, the club deserves its fair share of criticism but you arent going to achieve much in the prem based on bravado and motivational speeches.

I share the same concern and can't agree more. I was seriously perplexed and worried when Ange rocked up with no backroom staff, and basically just appointed a load of random ex players. I know he's not the first to do that, but surely nowadays in 2024 you have an entourage of hand picked coaches you work with who all understand your principles and philosophy and you bring them with you. It just reeks of amatuerness. Like, it might have been sufficient to do that in pub leagues like Australia, Japan and Scotland, but in the PL you have elite coaches everywhere you look. It's quite clear that despite having as much time on the training ground as any other side, our players are getting worse and worse. WTF is responsible for coaching the defence? They should be out of a job already, pure incompetence. Mason aswell, nice bloke but it shouldn't be jobs for the boys, everyone should be hired based on their competence but of course Levy needs his inside mole doesn't he, to the detriment of the team no doubt.

hes blagging his way through it seems like. he rambles on and its like hes trying to convince people listening he knows what hes talking about all while saying nothing really. a lot of words coming out of his mouth but no real substance. when he got pulled up the other day on what the message was that wasnt getting through he shat himself.

his interviews irritate me now because hes rambing on without saying anything actually interesting. i feel sorry for him in a way, hes looking way out of his depth and trying his very best to mask it.

up until chelsea everything was rosey and he looked the real deal. but that game badly exposed him, 9 men and hes sent the team out to die with his suicide tactics! never seen anything like it and you wont again unless its from some rookie whos not got a clue.

what was this message that wasnt getting through? "pass the ball forward and believe in yourself mate"?

Again I completely agree. At first I thought he was master at work but it's becoming increasingly obvious he's blagging his way through it. I know he's not the most animated, but when I see him standing there on the touchline looking gormless and out of ideas, I just think the guy is out of his depth. Even in his PC and interviews, he has the look and sound of a man who knows he has been found out. LIke there isn't any substance to him at all, and actually I feel he's a bit too introverted and awkward. At first many of us thought he was amazing because it was new and exciting and he talked a good game, and of course we got results, but since we've fallen apart you start to see through it all and he does come across like a pub manager who has been asked to manage a PL club. He really doesn't come across like one of the games big thinkers like he was portayed, he's really naive and it's all this 'that's just how we play mate', but there doesn't seem to be any consideration for opposition tactics. There's no depth at all to his tactics.

I'm finding it really, really uncomfortable to watch tbh
He just comes across as some random bloke plucked off the street and stuck in front of a TV camera to answer questions on something he knows very little about.
Painfully uninspiring. Someone mentioned Avram Grant, earlier. Easy to see the connection.

Again completely agree. Like an aussie Avram Grant. I can't ever remember being so turned off with a manager so quickly. I genuinely thought when he came he'd be great even though I was underwhelmed with the appointment, and I believed in him for 10 games. But now I think he's so far out of his depth. At least the likes of Mourinho and Conte who I wanted gone, you still kind of deep down knew that they could walk the walk so even if you wanted them gone, you still knew they knew what they were doing and talking about, but with Ange I just think he's winging it. We have an amateur coach in charge of Spurs.

I hope I am wrong but I think it will be 2 points from 8 games bad next season and he'll be gone by October.

To answer your question in part, a quick glance at the club website lists the following.
Defensive coach - Raymond Charles
Tactical/organisational coach- Steven Wonder.
CEO Daniel Levy.
I think it all correlates.

He did the same with Modric, but it isn't signing Carrick that was the problem. The problem he heard of the opportunity and did not think to call his new DOF or Manager which meant he was at logger heads with his new manager. A manager whom he appointed without discussing it with his newly appointed DOF.

A DOF who left to scout young players for Chelsea because he felt there was too much interferance with what he wanted to do after being told he would have control.

A lot of the clubs problems havew been because Levy has been unable to keep away from football Decisions. He basically sent Paratici to Barcelona to sign a player from their financial problems and Paratici originally wanted Ilaix Moriba and only signed Emerson Royale because we couldn't get him.
You don't need to try to sign me up, I'm a fully fledged Levy-Out member. Can't stand him.

The funny thing is, I can see Levy having a bit of a man crush like the people on here and giving him too long before realising it's all BS.
Levy only cares about the Champions League gravy that Villa are nailed on for.

The Aussie Barry Evans needs to get his finger out of his arse if he wants to survive beyond October.

Levy can't sack him before the game in Melbourne.

Ah yes, in the couple of months since I've joined the team has been flying, playing brilliant football and giving me hope that we can actually progress towards challenging for trophies all over seen by a tactically adept and prove competitor at this level, so much to be positive about.

It's not like it's been terribly boring, sterile possession based football overseen by a man clearly out of his depth, with the team getting progressively worse and playing as less than the sum of their parts, how dare I not get in line and mindlessly cheer the new saviour?

Just let me know the daily quota of positivity needed to prove my support to a nobody on the internet.
