Every player played their part this season

It's like saying VdV "saved" us the amount of times he swept up at the back
Son "Saved" us the amount of goal contributions he had

etc...

The argument that one player apparently overachieved or outstanding compared to the others is disingenuous and just lacks a load of context.
They were saves that were unexpected for a goalkeeper to make.

Good list.

Do you not think the 8/10 role in one we’re somewhat okay in? We have Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison, Lo Celso, Bergval Skipp?
Not a really top class group but it has room to improve. What we surely need is a really top class 6 to knit the midfield together.
Bissouma just isn’t that guy.
If we can get them, I'd still be tempted to go Eze and Olise. Yes, they will be 70 odd each, but their chances of success are very high. Have to factor that into the price obvs.

The next most needed player is probably a 6, on the basis Hojberg is leaving, and Biss isn't good / consistent enough (and nor is Skipp) . If we are to pull that off, plus the above, then we really need to get rid of the unwanted players this summer

Yeh I can see why. Divides opinion and stats aren't great. Just have a feeling he'd ball out in our system and will be available well below market value this summer.

You aren’t alone in thinking that.

The good thing is the manager seems pretty straight up and it’s unlikely he’s really that much of a cunt if we did sign him because he wouldn’t have it.

I also feel pretty confident that’s the reason we won’t but let’s see.

I think Raphinha would cost similar numbers for fee and wages to Olise. UTD might be in the mix but under Ratcliffe they might not spend the same way and already have a 90m investment into Antony they need to address. Chelsea don’t need and won’t chase. That leaves Liverpool or PSG. I could definitely see him staying at Palace.
Raphinha would cost similar but it's not the money that means we won't get Olise, it's cos he won't pick us. He's going right to the top, he knows it, he'll have his pick of the bunch and the 60m release clause will be the steal of the summer. Would love it so much but in absolutely no world is he coming to us, sorry.

As for where, City? Perfect Pep winger and they have a hole on the right. Liverpool will be all over him especially if they let Salah go. Antony won't put off United from bidding. PSG could tempt him given his desire to play for France. Maybe other clubs abroad. Maybe even Palace. He just has too many better options.

City already have Savinho coming in to fill the space they have RW

I think toney would be an excellent option for us. He would be a massive handful the way we play. plus a threat in the air (something we lack), physical presence which we could do with in the team.
