Notice how after the Werner signing it used to be Werner plus a winger and a striker?

Now we start to hear it's a winger OR a striker?

Remember that some on here spotted straight away that there is no chance we were signing 2 more forwards after Werner and that's why it was the most ENIC Hotspur move ever?

I think you're reading too much into the wording. The guy is Italian. But yes, I'm sceptical how many will be bought in for sure. This is Spurs after all. If fans arent cynical about our transfer dealings then I'm not sure enough attention is being paid.

you are actually paying any attention to a tweet that starts of saying we want 1 more attacking player in addition to Werner then ends the tweet saying we want "at least 1"?

I am paying attention to what knew as soon as Werner arrived.

Doue is maybe an interesting way they could fix this because he plays LW,RW, 10, and 8.

If they signed him and a striker I could see that being 2 more forwards after Werner.

I'm a little bit torn over Gallagher. I think we should be aiming higher. God knows we can afford to.

But I do see him as an improvement on what we have.

Could be a bit of a bellwether with regards to the Ange / Levy dynamic. A lot of his most passionate supporters have been trying to convince us he badly wants Gallagher. Well, he's seemingly there for the taking. 🤷‍♂️

Who would you say is a more appropriate player for our system?

But it's the transfer window where every tweet is taken as gospel!

There's hidden meanings everywhere!

Clues everywhere!

If a tweet says our business is done for the summer...it's true!

If another tweet says we're looking to bring in 3 more players...it's true!

If a tweet says Everton have won the transfer window...it's true and why can't the bald man run us more like them!

Open your mind and let in the light damn you!!

We can't just keep relying on potential though. It's one of the reasons we're always a few players short and players like Harry Kane finish up wanting out. We should always be looking for players that immediately improve what we already have. And Sarr would become a better player himself if he had to work hard for his place in the team.

Completely agree mate.

Who would you suggest?

I don't know tbh.

For what he does, there aren't many that you can be sure will be better. And Ange clearly wants him for what he does.

Not saying there aren't better CMs but the type of player he is, there isn't much better out there.
What type of player is Gallagher though? Would would he specifically add to our midfield that we don’t already have? Is he really going to improve it sufficiently?
From my watching of him, he appears a very hard working, box to box 8 that is quite limited technically and not very press resistant. Extremely similar in many ways to PEH, who we are desperate to be shot of.

And then throw in the fact he’s a boyhood Chelsea fan and their current captain, and going by sound bites from the media, he would much rather sign a new deal there than leave.

It just seems very strange to me that we are going for him in this way considering all the above.

Tbh I thought he was kinda limited technically but been very impressed with him this past season. Actually think a decent comp might be the role Wijnaldum played for Klopp's Liverpool. Think he'd be a good fit for us. Desperate to see more passing ability in our midfield though, we have nobody to switch the play, except for Hojbjerg who's probably on the way out.

He's a pressing, box to box #8 that covers every blade and wins the ball back high up the pitch. Chips in with goals and assists.

It funny because you've based your opinion on us not signing more then 1 other attacking option based on past history in regards to Levy.

Yet with Ange you state you believe he will bring in a set piece coach and change things despite past history AND his own words saying otherwise.

At least be consistent.
I didn't say Ange would bring in a set piece coach? I think set pieces will improve and I think Ange is good enough to change things here but same time I will wait to see how the club actually acts this summer.

I read a report saying Gallagher didn’t want to come to us.

Villa is the easy way out. Doesn’t piss off the Chelsea fans and plays CL football, good manager etc

Of course, he’d have to live in Birmingham….

Yes, he is an upgrade.

But also 3 years older and more experienced.
I do believe that in few years time they could be roughly equal, if Sarr not better.

And then there is question - is that upgrade worth 50 mil fee + high salaries ?!
I have little doubt Gallagher would want 120 kpw minimal. Sarr is on 70 kpw. So roughly speaking, across 3 years we have paid 60 mil more for temporary upgrade.

I'd really look elsewhere, unless there is some bigger plan here (converting Gallagher to starting #6 for example).
Totally! Not sure why people thinking spending £50M to
May be upgrade on players we already have when we need players in other areas more urgently is beyond me. Plus why would we help out chavs with 50M so that they can buy say ollise?

Gallagher is a fair bit better than PEH tbf. It's a decent upgrade, though I share the concern re his loyalties.
