Wharton this season? £20M and now we are ficking around for Gallagher at £50M. Doesn’t make sense but then again even if we got Wharton Ange wouldnt y have played him.
What makes you say that? Ange threw in Sarr and Destiny despite lack of exp. And Bissouma despite lack of game time. Or is it just a opportunity to moan at the gaffer?

Funny how Sol Campbell was abused - and worse - after joining our thundercunt neighbours.

But Gallagher would be welcome with open arms.

Double standards if I ever seen the stuff.
Judas promised that he'd re-sign at the end of the season, then screwed us so he could pocket a massive signing on fee.

We sold Jennings to the filth, but he remains a club legend and ambassador to boot.

Greaves was ex Chelsea.

If you think Gallagher wouldn't play to the best of his ability, if he came to us, you clearly don't understand the mentality of professional Footballers, particularly when they're internationals. There's absolutely no way he'd jeopardise his England place just so he could score 'fan points' by deliberately stinking out the place, just because it's Spurs.

Campbell also ran his contract down and went on a free.

Plenty of players have played for us and Chelsea tbh
Gallas played for us, Woolwich and Chelsea.

Adebayor also played for both us and Woolwich.

Campbell a was home grown, once in a generation talent who left us on a Bosman for our biggest rival and won multiple trophies with them. He was completely unforthcoming about his desire to leave the club and gave us the impression that he was open to signing a new deal. He disregarded everything he was taught by the club and manipulated the situation to line his own pockets. He was "one of our own" and he rejected that status in the most offensive way possible.

The Sol Campbell situation is a completely different universe to a non-home grown player moving between the London clubs. It was the ultimate scalp for our rival and I have absolutely no reservations about inflicting a similar injury on Chelsea because they would do the same thing to us if the situation were reversed.

Should we buy from the Championship. I’m sure we could have beaten Brentford to Toney and Watkins. We could have beaten Leicester to Madison and Palace to Eze. We buy and we get Rodon and Spence. So much for our scouting back then.
It's buying and then giving game time, the players you buy in need to be better than what you have now. It becomes more difficult the better your squad is, we prefer not to develop youngsters but outsource either with loans or buying after they have developed.

Didn't watch him but apparently Clarke was very good in the championship last season, he wouldn't get to that point if we had kept him.

Thats the thing he basically lied for about 2 years that he was about to sign his contract and if that wasnt bad enough also had the opportunity to go to both Barcelona and Man Utd for a fee with 12 months of his contract left and again when he was out of contract and chose Woolwich. Unforgivable

The Judas comparison was probably a tad much, and yeah I do get pro players & Eng internationals, but I'd still rather we look elsewhere.

I'm an old footy romantic fart who thinks you should never play for rival teams, sue me 😂

Obviously need to see him in a Spurs shirt but everything just feels like he's going to force his way into the picture like Dele did.

If he's a #6 like he seems to think and his current club say, then what a player to have playing #6 in such and offensive system. Looks like he could take press resistance to a new level and be that type of player with the ego to just take games by the scruff and refuse to lose.

Let's see, he's a young kid and you never know but still, WOW.
Love the look of him. The type of player I'd have loved being...but had neither the class nor tekkers. Could two-foot the kid in the groin area, though.

[Decent track record of stating the bloody obvious? There's no news there. ]

To be honest, I'm not completely blown away by Eze, he's obviously got some moves, but is he 60m worth? I don't really see it, but will be very happy to be shown up.

I just want a taller, stronger, left-footed attacking version of Porro who can beat men and whip in a decent cross. But I can't think of one...

Can Udogie work on his crossing?

I think Gallagher is generally so under-rated. He can do a bit of everything and will get better. He presses like a monster. He's consistent. Has a goal in him. Puts in tackle after tackle. I think he's one of those players that will only get truly appreciated if he plays for your team. If he was a yard quicker he would be brilliant.
Problem is that as a jack of all trades and master of none, he will get absolutely slated if he was to come play CM for Spurs and show a lack of technique under pressure or misplacing not terribly difficult passes (both of which he is liable to do). He is essentially another 'passion merchant' type player who the usual suspects here absolutely loathe; basically a defensive upgrade on Hojbjerg but has the same hallmarks as him in an on-the-ball sense.

As much as I think he would be useful for his pressing and tackling, I think we would soon be underwhelmed by his impact in an attacking sense. I do love a tryer though, so if we were to sign him I'm sure I'd quickly take to him.

The opposite of Jack of all trades actually.

He's clearly a master of pressing and winning the ball back. And very good at shooting.

Not as great at pinging passes around the place. That Sudakov we were linked to looks like an unreal passer of the ball. MGW can pass as well as having a similar engine to Gallagher
