His crap England performances have shown that we need technical players. Ange said the same thing especially v low block teams. We don’t some one running around like a headless chicken.
We've got the best technical English players out there around him, and they've all been crap.

Gallagher's performances for England have zero bearing on how good he is in club Football. If all I'd ever seen of Foden was his England performances, I wouldn't give you tuppence for him. He's been the worst of the lot as far as I'm concerned.

Can someone check on John Thomas. He could be very vulnerable if he finds out we have made more signings than Woolwich, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd,

On top of that, Giphy have reported a significant drop in activities and fear for their bestest customer.
I just hope he hasn't got a cat.

I can't for one minute believe that he will try to play down the signing as Gray is not on the front of FIFA 24, and doesn't have a south American sounding surname, he's not at all predictable like that.

We needed a homegrown player and certainly looks a huge prospect I will take that over a Gallagher all day
I didn't want Gallagher either. But buying another 18 year old, who just like Johnson, is the next best thing to sliced bread, isn't something to get excited about. If like City we'd buy another tried and tested player as well, then Great. But we won't. If we bought 4 decent 'plug and play' as well I'd be over the moon. What are the chances with Werner earning 165k, Kulu, Johnson, Son, and Richie still there? We'll chat again as the window ends.

PL to PL.

You’re not coming off well by repeatedly ignoring the question..

You like doing this don't you, bringing people back to your very specific chosen topic as a way of ignoring everything else said.

And I've already stated, if you're asking me to justify what Son brings to the game over Johnson, you're gonna be disappointed. It's as useless to me as explaining to a toddler why the sky is blue. We can go round and round but if you don't see with your own eyes you never will.

Wide forward is actually one of those positions where players can reach a high peak very young. Especially if they rely heavily on pace, which will only decline with age.

Look at Olise, Mbappe, Coman, Doku, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Yamal, Barcola, Bakayoko, Palmer, Saka, Dembele. All a very high level by 21.

It's not like striker where you need to wait til their late 20's for them to properly learn the role. DM arguably another one of those positions too.

Re Brennan, it's a judgement call and I know it divides opinions, I just don't see him improving from this level. He's not suddenly gonna turn into Olise and learn some composure and technique.
Eh?

Composure and technique are absolutely the two things you learn/improve on as you mature. That's why players are considered to have hit their peak between ages 26-28. Peak physical, with the experience gained as you mature.

Johnson is 4 years away from even being considered at his peak, he has an awful lot of time to improve.

Quite a sad way to spend your evening. Obsessing over another poster.

We could dance around it. I could say this is the view of spurs correspondents at the athletic, you could say it’s a bad take…

Or you could explain what you think Som brings to the team that Johnson doesn’t apart from end product.

Ten years ago, in the Bundesliga Son had 14 G/A - so comparable to Johnsons return in the PL at the same age

I know you weren't arguing this but just using your post to add the comparison

If you need explaining what Son brings to the game over Brennen, frankly you're a lost cause.

For starters you should stop looking at G/A stats as if they're the be all. Take most of those Johnson goals - they're tap ins from two yards. Valuable, yes, but indicative of genuine ability, world class attributes, skills you can develop? No.

Go take a look at Son's first goal for Spurs. Age roughly 23, against Palace, takes the ball on the left, beats a man with a brilliant shimmy then smashes it low past the keeper. From that moment it was abundantly clear we had a real player on our hands.

How many times has Brennan done anything like that that? What did he do last year that made you think, wow this guy has some real ability?

How many of his assists last season were brilliant slide rule passes like Son made time and again, as opposed to low crosses into the box any two bit winger from the Championship can deliver?

Sometimes the game needs to be seen with your eyes and brain. Not behind spreadsheets and stats.
Many would Love to justify Levy's Player Punts. We paid twice as much for Johnson as we could've paid for Trossard. But some will justify it. Maybe Johnson will be better than Trossard at some point, but by that time players like Romero and VDV will have been hanging around three or four seasons, eager to transfer to the likes of RM. We buy to groom. We don't buy to win anything. The Rebuild of the Rebuilt, Rebuild that was Rebuilding the Rebuild...... will continue.

Hilarious bollocks. Ange might take a look at him in preseason, he should do, but we aren’t basing our striker targets (if there are any) on Troy Parrot. Ange has said our transfer plans have been in the works for months, a purple patch by a player that’s never proved it in the PL isn’t going to change that. At least if a person is going to make something up, it has to have some logic behind it.
The club are keen on giving a player they don't have to spend any money on a chance?

Shockingly surprising.
