the signings of gray and bergvall are actually genius in the way that it gives fans a bit of excitement for next year. we were never going to get a marquee signing so two 18 year old wonderkids for 50m is the next best thing to do. was all very stale at the end of last year with nothing to look forward too. now everyone going to be hoping one, if not both of these boys take off next year.

its actually very clever and its far cheaper than getting a marquee signing and having them on 300k a week. if this is levy at work then fair play.
genius as in it's a punt that they can be sold for more than paid for and are possibly on lower wages than established players ?

might be clever in that respect but as most supporters don't share in these profits, hopefully they do well on the pitch ... business:dude:

it bides him time and gets fans off his back for a summer.

to be honest we dont sign marquee players anyway. you could argue bale a few years ago but he was at the end of his career, before that maybe VDV? but he was a real madrid cast off so it was more like goods someone didnt want. the last genuine marquee would of been klinsmann i think.

Signing Marquee players is so dated now, signing young players who will grow into stars is the way to go, Real Madrid are showing the way, Chelsea following ;)

You'll wank yourself into a coma over this one

Pure unbridled puff piece

Enjoy yourself

People acting all disgusted by a gambling company sponsoring our shirt, would all give their right arm to have Holsten emblazoned on the shirt.

Alcohol has ruined more lives than gambling folks. Awful stuff with far wider reaching consequences than debt.

a lot of people punt off AFTER theyve had a drink! it also brings out the nose candy.

the virtue signallers will find problems in most things, its what they do.

Not to mention the fact many alcoholics are violent towards their partners and children, drink drive causing havoc on the roads, cause themselves physical harm costing the NHS money. There's such a wide reach for the misery and consequence alcohol can cause.

I've never been an alcoholic, but I was raised by them. Once I hit my 40's I just came to the conclusion there's no point drinking anymore. It does nothing for you other than cost money and make you feel like shite.

But here we are, claiming gambling is evil and alcohol is acceptable in modern society.

Gambling ruins lives too for a minority of people - they have exactly the same demons and destruction as alcohol does for others

If it wasn't for the wink at the end, you'd think he was entirely serious.

RM buying youth players...
Jude Bellingham, Luka Jovic, Vinicius Jnr etc.

We sign players like Nkudu.

Firstly his name is Nkoudou not Nkudu and we signed him in 2017, a full 7 years ago - a lot has changed since then.

Secondly we signed Gray, Bergvall, Udogie, VDV, Dragusin and Sarr in the last couple of seasons, we're talking about a crop of some of the best young players in the world.

Thirdly your ignore button is fucked, fix it.

Not to mention Gareth Bale, Kyle Walker, Luka Modric.

Some people just can't seem to grasp that it's fucking NORMAL to buy players that don't work out.

It’s natural that Spurs fans recall a lot more about our duds than we do about other teams. If you could be arsed to go through the transfer history of our rivals, you’d see we aren’t any worse or any better than them.

Man Utd's are so bad over the last decade

I struggle to think of any you could say really succeeded

Maybe Bruno Fernandes, but he seems really divisive in the dressing room

Yes, we were just shit at buying players for a long period.

Irony of mentioning Real Madrid is that they literally took those young players we made into stars!

Possibly. I think we would probably be mid range, Man City much as they annoy me with their dodgy money are normally good when they spend big, Man United by contrast are insanely bad at spending.

I think the hit rate has a lot to do with the club have a clear direction of how they want to play football then a good scouting operation to bring in players who fit that way.

Our model is more like City’s now so I don’t think it’s surprising our hit rate is better in the past few years. If we spent big on an Isak, Kvara or Gyokeres I would trust the club now in a way I would not have maybe 5 years ago.

City also pretty much have first dibs, if we try and sign a player they also want they have

- guaranteed trophies
- higher wages
- an iconic manager
