Competition European Championships 2024 ⚽ 🏆 ⚽

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

No, Netherlands are a top team. Would be the first quality win of the tournament for England.

Yep - the team who completely ran over Italy and were a 92nd minute equaliser away from beating Germany is not a """quality win""" for England, even though everyone and their nan had them beating us, including me because they're very obviously a good team with some top class players around a very good system.

This is the boring shite England fans have to endure. When we beat Germany in the last Euros it was "omg a BAD german team".

I actually like England players…. I think Southgate is making the national team under achieve.

The other European countries with arrogant media have actually won big tournaments recently. England hasn’t won anything in almost sixty fucking years.

Ok lol.

We have the biggest league in the world, a team of incredible players and have been one of the most competitive teams in the world in the last decade or so with a final, now two semi finals and a quarter final. Of course we're """"arrogant""" and if any team had our players they'd be arrogant too.

Most England fans are actually incredibly negative and most of us on here had us losing to Switzerland and have complained throughout, you just want to listen to Paul Merson.

Actually it's a Spurs forum not a Premier league club forum.

If we ever get relegated from the Premier League, TFC forum would still be up and running, and I'll still be turning up and supporting the club week in week out.

Will you?

Barely any support - or even fondness - for Spurs emanates from his direction anyway.

Do you really think anyone hates a country? I certainly don’t hate England. I spend almost half my life there. The football team, I dislike. Aren’t there football teams you dislike? Maybe near neighbours? Maybe more successful ones?

Yes people really do hate countries.

The England football team changes all the time with the exception of the roles of English fans and the English FA.

So your longstanding "dislike" for the England national football team must be based on the people of England and the English FA, as all the other parts change every few years.

Yes I dislike Woolwich for sure, which would be a massively contributing factor as to why I would never support a club in a Woolwich hosted 20 team league. I don't get your point there?

Germany were a bad side. It’s the truth.

England has not won anything in almost 60 years. Normally arrogant fans and media have something to be arrogant about.

Of course they were, despite having 8 champions league winners in their team, a core of generally world class players, and having just beaten a fancied Portugal team 4-2 in the groups. Terrible team. Anyone could do it!

Just fuck off, it's so boring. You know *why* the English media is "arrogant" (if you actually read articles from our media, its a lot of negativity) and its because of the league and the players we have, its nothing to do with winning or not.

You’re probably right that it’s the media that is arrogant, not the fans. I might be conflating the two.

Anyone presently supporting a team with players from Woolwich, Chelsea and West Ham in it, is a cunt. To put it bluntly.

Using your “logic”, I suppose you will be rooting for Woolwich in the Champions League this season coming? Not only English, but London based. Our near neighbours in fact. Got your half and half scarf yet?
I was going to say the same thing. You completely destroyed their bad argument.

There’s always a tension between your feelings at international level and club level. It’s perfectly possible though to hate England National Team and love Tottenham. Football is based on harmless, irrational rivalries.

Just because you hate the England National Team, it doesn’t mean you hate England.

You’re proving my point. According to you, EPL is the best in the world. It’s not! It is about in par with the other top European leagues.

“We’ve got the best players!” Why the fuck don’t you win anything, then?

Pretty sure I don’t know anyone who hates an entire country. Maybe I just know the right people.

My dislike of the England team is based presently on the likes of Saka and Rice. Previously it’s been Lampard and Scholes. Wright and Adams before that. I’ll not bother going further back as I’m sure you get the point.

And yes, there’s also the fact that, as a Scotsman, we are raised to dislike England as a whole. I don’t, but there’s maybe some lingering stuff hanging around in the swamp of my mind.

You're never still bitter over William Wallace, surely?

The premier league over the last 5-6 years has been overwhelmingly clear on the coefficient tables, with much more success than any other league in getting to semi finals or finals. Only last season was the league poor in this respect. It is currently the best league in the world.

La Liga was the best before this. Serie A the best before that etc.

We've got lots of very good players, and consistently are getting to semi finals and finals. We have a very poor coach.

Anyway go cry about it & support a non-English club if you hate the English media, fans and country so much.

Nothing cringey, just don’t want you to win it. I’ve stated on here it’s because of your idiot pundits, commentators and fans that cause trouble is the reason we fucking want you lot beat.
Moaning cunts on here on the euro thread but now you get further you’re all massively patriotic. Support should always be through the good bad and indifferent times.
Fucking stupid pundits now all over England because they’ve been told by broadcasters to calm the criticism. You’d have thought England were briliant yesterday by the way they were going on at half time.
Muppets.

They are the cringey cunts.

Much of this is bollocks.

The fans have caused no trouble (in fact; they have been praised by local authorities).

There hasn't been an upswing in patriotism. Being pissed at Southgate doesn't mean you want the team or country in general to do any less well.

Your point about the beeb getting a bollocking isn't a factor that was brought into this tournament; it only manifested 24 hours ago (unlike your blatant dislike).

.........You're not citing cause & effect; you're just mining for things to vindicate your inherent dislike.

Genuine question: If you dislike England this much how comes you didn't' start supporting a Scottish team in the 80s instead (when you were actually churning out a lot of good players)? ............Afterall, if anything the country was more nationalistic back then AND the fans were far worse behaved (if indeed these are genuine factors)?

So how did you feel about England when they had Dier, Walker, Rose, Kane, Trippier and Dele?

Personally I always watched and wanted Croatia to do well with the 4 Spurs players.

I even wanted Scotland to do well for the sake of Calderwood, Sullivan, Hutton etc when they played for them.

Club before country every time. If a nation doing well might act as a boost for Spurs that's good for me to get behind. Not saying anyone else should do the same, just my stance.

What a facile argument. You claim to hate Woolwich and yet I saw you have a good night out in Islington. You claim to hate Chelsea but you got married in Chelsea Town Hall.

Clubs and countries have rivalries based on history and competition… when we support a team, we adopt a rivalry. Unless you think that every spurs fan needs to be English, you’re going to have plenty who love Tottenham and hate England.

A relatively even handed stance to have. Credit to you for that.

I felt better about England when they had a few Spurs players. Still not great, but better.

To be clear, I’ve never been a Scotland fan either. Fuck cheering Celtic and Rangers players.
