How Dry should our Powder be?

There has been plenty of times where our first 11 has been strong and need reinforcing to get us over the line, we wasn't proactive and these moments passed us by.

The same thing will keep happening it's not a case of complete overhaul but you add a genuinely elite player and things change.
So who are you gonna buy with the £200 million to get us over the line?

Kane will score 40 odd goals again next season. There isn't a club in the world who would feel bad about investing 100m to get 80 odd goals in 2 seasons.
England's problem wasn't Kane, Kane's problem was England.
The best player in Spain and best player in England couldn't give him a pass worth looking at. That's on them. That's why he drops deep to get the ball. And then he's passing to inferior players who take his position.

I read something about Gary Neville reckons that Kane was having painkiller injections during the tournament.

No idea if it's true though.

If we buy players first and then can’t sell or loan the ones we don’t want we’d have such so many players with too many that could not be named in either our domestic or European squads. Their value would shrink way down.Wages would be ridiculous. Players not in squad , what would they do….unrest.
Exactly. Sell before buy is not directly about money and cashflow in our case, it’s about places in the squad and asset management. Remember when Conte told reguilon, Ndombele, LO celso and someone else (Gil?) to fuck off at the beginning of 2022/23 pre season? It was made all public and we haven’t managed to sell anyone from that group and it affected their value for sure. We want to sell Emerson, but we need to keep place for him in squad to not drop the value.

It's possible. But people talking about his mobility just don't recognize that's not a part of his game anyway. I would have liked to have seen Kane on the pitch with Watkins for more of the games. He could have been sliding those first time balls through to him like he did for Son for years.
But nope, Kane off FOR Watkins most of the time. And then you get a Palmer on who starts playing penetrative passes.

I really hope I’m wrong but our inability to move on players is starting to feel very familiar , we all know that a failure to do so impacts incoming player deals under ENIC. One can argue all day whether it should or shouldn’t , but in reality it does imho

EDIT: I remain very pleased with Gray and Bergvall though

It’s not really our inability. The market is dead. Only a few PL teams have done anything of note. Arteta was going on the other day about how slow the market is and how they’ve had to adjust their plans.
