Or do we just wait?
I'd take Toney. I think he'd be more useful just by being available and HG than Richie.
But the other option is to just wing it another season and try again next year.

Cause we sure as shit ain't gonna push the boat out to sign a ready made top talent.

Isn’t that the Spurs mantra?

I’m increasingly questioning the season ticket cost. We aren’t getting anything back in return.

Not a traditional “

not a traditional target man like Toney though.
No but still a centre forward. Target man or not you still have to hold the ball in and take your team up the pitch. We don’t have any players that can do that. Toney can. Our biggest problem was not conceding goals last year,it was our front three not being able to take is up the pitch more often than not. Too many times we play some great stuff and they either lose it because they can’t play with their back to goal or play a negative pass back inside and slow it down. What would happen is players would be in areas to receive the ball or make runs forward and they’d lose and we’d be fucked on the counter.
Watching Nico Williams was a fucking joy because he tried to hurt the full back every time and his movement would get him into a position when he received it he could get at them. Our wide players run straight to the ball and either get bullied or just pass it back. They don’t even spin in behind anywhere near enough.

Going back to the centre forward thing,we always set up with two wide and one central and last season it was Sonny and Richy who’d play that role. If they are options in that position this year then it will be exact same as last year. We need a centre forward signed.

"Brentford are ready to slash their asking price for Ivan Toney to less than £50million due to a lack of interest. Tottenham and West Ham are his most likely suitors [The Sun]"

Admittedly it's the Sun, but I don’t doubt Brentford will have to slash their Toney fee. Their model is based on selling their assets and reinvesting, can’t afford to lose him for nothing in a year.

Highly doubt he’d have much interest from abroad. Us and United were his most likely suitors and United have just bought Zirkzee. He wouldn’t be interested in a sideways move to Spam.

We basically have a free run at him, unless Chelsea/Woolwich decide they’re interested late on in the window, but I think they're looking elsewhere.

I reckon it happens but probably not for a while. Maybe deadline day.

Hmm interesting.

He's a quality player that would suit Simeone down to the ground, so perhaps it shouldn't be surprising there's interest. Strikes me as the sort of player who has his eyes set on the Prem big 6 though. Maybe I'm wrong.

Equally could just be his agent trying to drum up interest. Would Atleti pay the money? Home grown tax is irrelevant for them. Reports are they're also keen on Alvarez, which seems a much more Atleti-type signing.

Richarlison has been such a bad signing but people still think he’ll come good. Can’t stay fit and has one good spell for 9 games in 2 full seasons. That’s horrendous.

Fitness is the biggest issue here.

He's started just 30 league games for us since he signed, out of a possible 76. 12 goals and 8 assists in that time.

Though calculated in minutes, he's played 2,498 minutes in the Prem for us. So since signing, he is involved in a goal every 125 minutes.

Over that same period of time, Toney has played 4,444 minutes (bare in mind, he also missed half a season due to suspension) and has managed 24 goals and 6 assists. So a goal or assist every 148 minutes.. With 6 of those goals being penalties.

So yeah, Richy can't keep fit. But damn, if Toney is the answer. We're scraping the barrel. We have to be aiming higher if striker is the priority.
