To make us a more attractive proposition and to pay him an amount that matches his ability?
Was also just a turn of phrase.

To make us a more attractive proposition and to pay him an amount that matches his ability?
Question without notice, who here wishes we joined in on the clubs with FFP issues by buying and selling academy players before June 30 for inflated fees?
No we didn’t - his fee wasn’t 80M and we write off the 1/5 of his fee not the full amount (from a financial perpesctuve).

He will never start a first team game for us. Nowhere near good enough. Saw more in 20 mins with Lankshear than I’ve seen of Scarlett in any game whether it’s off the bench with us or on loan.Scarlett has some ability, just doesn't look like a striker to me. Doesn't have much presence up top, doesn't seem to occupy the centre backs, not great playing with his back to goal, haven't seen much hold up play, or link up. Nor is he particularly pacey, not great movement, or looking to get in behind and play on the last line.
Maybe I could see him being a second striker. But definitely not one who leads the line on his own, not unless he completely alters his game.
65m fee - none of which we have recouped
15m - annual salary we have written off for his final year of contract
80m pissed up the wall.
I doubt it was 65M, I imagine 20% of that was based on performance and appearances which haven’t been met.65m fee - none of which we have recouped

The fee is already amortised though so from a cash flow no return but from a financial perspective I think fully off the balance sheet or at worse 20% written off
Apparently we've been discussing wages with Eze. That's got to be a good sign.
Doesn't mean he'll come here but it does seem to mean that we will actually pay the release clause.
I think people are misreading what he said, and panicking too soon..."no doubt there will be a couple more additions but I'm comfortable with where we're at.”
.........
And just like that the coffers closed for another window.

FIXED!
Dunno if it's a deceptive appearance, but he looks short... (little short for a Stormtrooper ain't ya?)Scarlett has some ability, just doesn't look like a striker to me. Considering Levy is supposed to be SO tight... He doesn't half spend some wages on lots of staff!!More Chiefs that fucking Indians.
Did we truly need more tiers on Management?
Once upon a time, we had a single Scout, hunting around grounds, fag in the gob, with note paper and pen, that could find Dele, VDV, Bale, Modric, Romero and a dozen others.
But no, we have more fucking scouts, sons of scouts and grandchildren of scouts to find us Sess, Gill and the like.

Yep but comparable to our peers I think is probably less than most. Goons have written off loads of players, Pepe etc as have othersSure, in terms of balance sheets, but when you make an investment in a player, you would expect there to be some retained value.
its terrible business to pay a large transfer fee for a player and then allow his contract to run down - even worse to terminate it.
The total cost to the club for Ndombele would likely exceed 80m. For which we had very few performances.
Same applies to the likes of Lo Celso. Huge outlay and we are very unlikely to recoup more than 15m.
Commonly known as "Backing your manager "United dropped 40 on Zirkzee. Not sure if that was release clause and up front or not?
And now 50m up front of 59m for Yoro.
Forget opinions on players because time will tell but it's a stark contrast with us not wanting to pay the large chunk of the Eze release clause up front...
All I can say is fuck Jonathan David or Ivan Toney, go and get the names at the top of the list.
I read it on a couple of sites. Caught Offside was one, Crystal Palace had it on we are palace and also the wolves site mentioned wages were discussed with Eze and Neto. Doesn't mean it's accurate. I'm just mentioning because nobody else has seen it.

There’s people now saying we need outside investment in here as we’re skintCommonly known as "Backing your manager "
Meanwhile, Spurs have hotels to build, property to develop and books to balance. Spare a thought for Daniel. He's doing his best.
I'm thinking, let's trust the ones we got. When Richy is out we play Son there, at minute 70 we put Lankshear, Scarlett or Veliz on. One of those 3 will start scoring. And before Christmas, at least one of them will be ready to overtake Richys place as starter.
