Exactly. Whats the point in having a good youth system with our most exciting crop of youngsters in decades if you just keep filling the the squad up with fodder like Solomon, Werner and Ramsey.
I'm sorry but that same excuse can be used for splashing 70m on Eze too.
Ramsey is infinitely more useful than Lo Shitshow but it’s still kind of pointless, would rather see Devine, Bergvall and Gray handed those minutes
Well i'd say Eze is better than Maddison and would go straight into the team. He'd also be an option off the left and hopefully see Solomon sold and Werner limited to minutes. Ones a quality player and improves the 11, the other a player trade, padding out the squad.
Good showing. Problem is he plays like this one game in 15. And Liverpool were on the beach at this stage.

When Ramsey was 21 years old, he got 6 goals and 7 assists in 2,646 minutes for a pretty average Villa side in the league...
Eze was playing Championship football at that age. And at the age Ramsey is now, Eze managed 4 goals and 6 assists...
Ramsey is also an option on the left.
He's a good player who has the potential to be a really really great player. Has always been the case. And if we replace Lo Celso for him, I'd be very happy. Because that guy is a waste of space.
If however, he's one of our only attacking signings, I will be disappointed. Though I don't believe that to be the case.
Just like I don't believe the story in the first place.
Ultimately, any signing we make going forward is going to limit a youngster in some way. We had a promising player like Donley, Devine ... We still signed Bergvall. We have Lankshear, Veliz etc yet we're still trying to sign a striker..
It's down to those youngsters to improve and prove themselves.

We have a fantastic crop of youth which should set us up for years to come and we’re adding more good, young (and English) players

No first team quality ones yet I do expect a top winger or striker don't care which would be dissapointed if we don't

He did look a good player but injuries look like they've taken their toll in the last season or two. He isnt the worst, he has some ability and he might get some form back again but it all just feels like a waste of time and resources.
