Yeah definitely agree with that. If we don’t get better players for those positions then it’s literally throwing Ange under the bus because if we have a similar season the crackpots will turn on him and inevitably it goes one way. We have the best manager we’ve had since the 80s so give him the fucking tools to win something. Ramsey or Gallagher stinks of signing a player just because they are English or to offload someone else but it doesn’t improve us.
Gyokeres please

All this talk of who is coming in and who is going out, of whether we have too many midfielders or not enough strikers, or who should be kept and who should be sent out on loan is all very interesting.

But the real question at the heart of this thread, and the one yet to be resolved, is the one that is keeping me awake at night, is whether or not Sean Astin is famous. Can we please pause all transfer discussion until this crucial debate is settled. Please, and thank you.

Constant Ramsey and Gallagher links have got to be a smokescreen for Johan to pull off proper deals further up the field.

Ange has said before "he would rather have 2 x £50m players than one £100m player".

I'm still thinking it will be Eze and Neto/Chiesa. The full back maybe Locko or Geertruida if he is still available.

Don't think they will buy a striker.

He was worth that even last summer but nobody wanted to pay it, which was the problem. Not a club he wanted to go to anyway. I suspect we will have the same problem with Richy.
100% agreed - Most of this is on Hojberg’s overinflated sense of his abilities and only wanting to leave for a “top” club. Since he’s not good enough for top clubs, there were no offers from clubs Hojberg was willing to go to.

Remember Fulham offered 25M quid for Hojberg last summer but he refused to go because he thinks Fulham is beneath him. Pretty much screwing us all over - Surprised that he’s willing to go to Marseille.

Not getting “full value” here is not on the club (our bald cunt) but on Hojberg (not that he cares I’m sure).

Tbf we rejected £16m from Atletico last Summer, he was willing to go to them but they didn't offer enough - must have thought they'd come along this Summer.

Good price for Hoj given his contract situation and how much we paid for him in first place. Maybe 15 would be better business, but 20mln £ was never possible this summer - much younger, skilled more demanded Bissouma when was at Brighton with one year contract left was bought by us for like 25 if I remember correctly. Good to see unwanted folks going out - this time permanently.

6 goals and 7 assists in 37 games in the Turkish league...he wouldn't be first choice.
Mate can we just sometimes look away from stats. His game is excellent where he hurts players with his aggressive movement. He’s an all action type. Someone on here mentioned during the euros he had a similar style to dirk Kurt that played with Liverpool which was a cracking assessment. He’s good at everything and will still score a few especially in our system. Deki and and Johnson have similar numbers but the game breaks down with them most of the time. Fucking football world is nuts as all people look at are stats. Any numpty can do that. Use your eyes and see a player not numbers.

The fee is what it is.

Given that we paid Southampton about that fee plus KWP - we ae getting back maybe half the value we paid. at best. Yet Hojbjerg is a top Danish international with a lot to offer, even though he doesn't suit Ange ball.

Underlines Spurs problems when we have to accept a low fee (given one year left on contract) yet need to pay maybe 4 times that sum for a better player.

Its right for Spurs to accept that deal and move on - but does mean we are paying a lot more for incoming players than we get for outgoing players, so its a tough situation

Why do people always get his signing fee wrong? Hojbjerg signed for KWP + £3m. KWP was valued at £12m hence the £15m (total) price.
He is a good player but he’s not a great one, he’s nearly 30, not home grown, doesn’t suit our system, has one year left before he could walk on a free. I think €13.50m (£11.3m) is a pretty good fee all things considered.
I also don’t believe we need to replace him either as we have plenty of midfielders who are better than him already (or at worst better in our system than him).
As far as I’m concerned this is another £11.3m to add to the transfer pot.

Edit: reports are saying he’s actually going for slightly more money, plus add ons. Fantastic business by us.
