Yang Min-Hyeok to join Spurs from Gangwon FC | Tottenham Hotspur

We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement for Yang Min-Hyeok to join the Club from K League 1 side Gangwon FC, subject to work permit and international clearance.

Probably debateable whether he's a summer signing or January - contract signed as he is over 18, subject to work permit etc which if the club wished could be finalised before window closes on 31 August so to all intents and purposes he could/should be counted as a summer signing.

Probably sensible for Spurs to loan him back to South Korea for more experience as he's only played 25 games for first tea, - so by end of season in December he'd have probably played more like 50 games as he'd tie up an oversea trained place which we are probably short of if he came right now.

Bergvall deal agreed last January = he was a January signing with an accounting quirk.

Yang deal agreed this summer = he is a summer signing with an accounting quirk.

Yang is very very unlikely to play for us this season.

Im sure we will get a couple of top players when window shuts. Were offloading the deadwood atm to get them off wage bill. If im being honest I like a lot of fans will be pissed off if we dont get a striker. Lankshear is doing well I have to say but we need more.

He could only sign on or after 2 February when he became 18

It's not at all.

People judge transfer window activity and to do that you need to allocate signings to a specific window. Yet some employ all sorts of mental gymnastics to suit an argument.

You just need to be consistent. Yang and Bergvall cannot both be summer signings.

But we wont sign him permanently so how can that be included. If so you would need to include the £15m that Girona will pay if they sign Gil permanently.
