How Dry should our Powder be?

I think Bournemouth will have a good season under their manager, why would they be open to selling Solanke? They could have an outside chance of the Conference League spot if the European places go deep in the league positions. That would be an amazing achievement for the club.
We are Tottenham Hotspur and if we bid above £50M +Add ons for Solanke they will have no choice but to sell. Especially seeing how much they have spent in the last year in the Premier League they must be close to failing PSR.

Close to £240m spent since they got promoted.

Only player of note sold is Kieffer Moore for £2m
On top of that we are Tottenham Hotspur we have the 8th largest revenue stream in the world. We should be after the likes of Latauro Martinez or Rafael Leao as our front line reinforcements but we have been told we should settle for less. The last World Class player injury free who we signed in their prime was Jurgen Klinsman and that was 30 years ago.

Yeah, you're living in dream land if you think those players would come to us if they were available 😂

Interesting quotes from Ange on strikers. Not sure we have heard him specifically mention a #9 before.

"So I think for us what's more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it's going be a striker that fits that mould.

"It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that's a focus for us."

He's clearly talking about a striker who has the physical ability to press like a maniac and still score goals. From the data we have seen on the listed players (not my fucking opinion on who I want, dickheads), Gyokeres, Solanke, and Openda fit that mould. Maybe David is a pressing forward as well? anyone seen that data?

That second quote about being the area we are thinnest is concerning tho. If we don't sing a winger who can beat a defender 1v1, I don't care if we sign peak Ronaldo Nazario, we've had a shit window.

Neither of those players mentioned fit that criteria either.

We shouldn't be aiming to sign those players regardless unless they are a fit for this team.

It's why I've had one foot on the Toney train just to tide us over.
because if Solanke goes and bangs in another 19
I'd be happy with either. They can both score, and they are both good target men. Son is absolutely not that, he gets knocked off the ball very easily. Not good with his back to goal. I thought that last season Richie was becoming that player after a good game at OT but he never showed it again.
Preference for Solanke. No baggage. AFCB played more like us last season, Brentford hit on the break. 19 PL goals in 38 is very good going. Don't think it's a flash in the pan, for once he had a good manager.

So assuming striker is a target, and Richy is staying, we have at 9: 1. New striker 2. Richy when fit 3. Deki 4. Will 5. Veliz/Scarlett. Its getting crowded. I bet Veliz and Will will go out for loan to get minutes and develop, and Scarlett will be kept as emergency - since he is done at Spurs imo so stuff will not care about him rooting in bench. With 3 senior strikers, no point to keep Will this season, and i guess Veliz loan can be used to bump his value.
